Singer Banky W. Writes Open Letter To Single Men, Women

Nigerian music singer, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W posted an insightful open letter to all single men and women in the society.

Wellington had uploaded a picture of his married celebrity friends, Tunde Demuren, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, and Olamide Adedeji, all wearing their wedding bands and tagged it; “Last man standing’’ in reference to his relationship status. 

Banky W noted that he posted the letter as a result of the attention he got from a fan who felt unsettled by the fact that Wellington was the only one in the group that was still single and not married. 

Banky W Breaks His Silence on Marriage

EME co-owner and singer, Banky W, is so happy that almost all his friends are married as he continues to play the role of groom’s men for them almost every month.

The singer, who is part of the groom’s men for TV presenter, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu’s ongoing wedding, stated that he is the last man standing but does not know when it will be his turn.

COSON STANDS FIRM: Threatens To Boycott Rhythm Unplugged, Headies... If BON/IBAN Do Not Call Off Ban!

Stemming from the ban of Nigerian Music on Radio and Television stations across Nigeria, by members of the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) and the Independent Broadcast Association of Nigeria (IBAN).

Artiste (COSON Members) at a music industry forum, which held at Rumours in Ikeja, yesterday (Tuesday 10^th December), have threaten to boycott the forthcoming Rhythm Unplugged, Hip Hop Awards (Headies) and other events.

Because of the event organizers (Rhythm Unplugged - Flytime, Hip Hop Awards (Headies) – Hip TV/Smooth Promotions), affiliations with the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) and the Independent Broadcast Association of Nigeria (IBAN).

BON/IBAN Bans Several Artists Including 2face, D'banj, Iyanya, Because of COSON

For quite some time now, the Copyrights Society of Nigeria (COSON), has been harassing the Broadcasting Society of Nigeria (BON) and the Independent Broadcasting Society of Nigeria, IBAN, insisting that they pay royalties for playing the songs of Nigerian artists. COSON has dragged several radio and TV stations to court, demanding millions, sometimes billions of Naira in royalty.

Well, it seems IBAN and BON have had enough. Two days ago, they announced the ban of all Nigerian artists registered with COSON. Meaning that they ordered the immediate stop to the airing of songs of artists who are COSON members.

The artists include 2face Idibia, D'banj, Onyeka Onwenu, Iyanya, Banky W, Flavour, Ice Prince, Dr Sid, Olamide, 9ice, M.I, eLDee, Ruggedman, Wizkid, Asa, Waje, Omawumi and several others.

Banky W Says His single again & The Nigerian Ent. Industry Is More Fame Than Fortune

In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, Banky W opened up about his relationship status. When asked if he was in a relationship, Banky replied 'Not at the moment.' Guess his relationship with Ghanaian beauty Andrea Giaccaglia has packed up...or maybe he just wants to get the blogs off his back. Lol. Anyway Mr Capable also reacted to the Forbes/Channel O list of the Top 10 Most Bankable African artists 2013where he was placed at No.10, Banky says the Nigerian entertainment industry is more fame than money. When asked how he felt about the list, Banky replied

I don’t believe very much in such things. Let’s be honest, the real wealthy people are the businessmen like Dangote and the politicians (some of whom got there by looting Nigeria). They’re the ones with real money. This entertainment business is too much hype. It is more fame than fortune. So I’m not thrilled by it and I don’t think any of us should buy into it too much. Wizkid, Banky W Impostor Nabbed ... As EME campaigns against impersonation.

Nigerian pop star Wizkid has spoken out against his continuous impersonation by fraudsters. The hit maker, bugged by increasing complaints and reported incidents, says he's worried and beyond scandalised, that some bandits would go to any length to perpetrate evil acts and defraud innocent fans and customers. The EME act spoke today in Lagos, while reacting to on-going investigations on recent discoveries and arrests. 
“It’s unfair that fraudsters will take advantage of unsuspecting victims.” he said.‘The culprit has been apprehended and all is being done to make sure such incidents don’t reoccur.” Wizkid added.
