'Eight Policemen Shot – 3 Dead' As Rampaging Masked Gunman Targets Cops

THREE police officers have been shot dead after a gunman dressed in black opens fire on cops.

A manhunt has been underway for a man dressed in black and wearing a mask who opened fire on cops in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, near Airline Highway, shortly before 9am local time.

Eight cops have shot and three are dead.

It is understood one gunman is down and another is at large.

Several streets near the state capital's police headquarters have been placed on locked down as police hunt two gunmen.

Nigerian Couple in the US Accused of Holding Woman Captive for Years

US Federal prosecutors have charged a husband and wife from the Katy area with holding a nanny against her will for years, abusing her and not paying her to work. 

Special agents with the Homeland Security Investigations Houston Human Trafficking Group have been interviewing the couple, family members, and the victim.

Chudy and Sandra Nsobundu were arrested Monday morning. They live in the 6400 block of Arroyo Hill Court.

Both of them appeared in federal court Tuesday. The judge released both on bond.

Men Beat Army Veteran For Liking Black People

Police in Michigan arrested three men who are accused of viciously beating an Army veteran who objected to their racist remarks.

According to the Westland Police Department, United States Army veteran Adam Wagner went to a 7-11 convenience store at 2 a.m. Saturday morning to purchase a pack of cigarettes. Once inside, he noticed three men harassing the female clerk, and he told them to stop.

When he walked outside, the trio followed him. At this point, Wagner told police, they noticed the Army insignia on Wagner’s car and began to taunt him about the military.

“They were saying, ‘How can you be in the military when they let black people in the military?’ They used the ‘n word’, saying [he] was an ‘n-word’ lover,” Wagner’s girlfriend told WJBK.

Brothers Sentenced 50 Years For Molesting 3 And 7 Year Old Girls

KTLA: is reporting that Two Fullerton brothers were convicted Monday of molesting two little girls in their neighborhood who prosecutors said they bribed with ice cream and candy to keep quiet about the abuse.

Cristobal Ortiz Rodriguez, 38, pleaded guilty to 11 felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and four felony counts of continuous sexual abuse.

His brother, Eduardo Ortiz Rodriguez, 36, pleaded guilty to 15 felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and two felony counts of continuous sexual abuse.

Barack Obama has appeared in a White House workout video to encourage young Americans to get fit.

In the video, which promotes the First Lady's fitness campaign, the president is seen sitting in the Oval Office when his deputy, Joe Biden, walks in.

"Mr President, are you ready to move?" he asks.

"Absolutely! Let's do this thing, let's move," Mr Obama replies.

Couple Born On The Same Day & Married 75 Years Passes Away One Day Apart

Helen and Les Brown, a couple of California sweethearts born on the same day and married 75 years ago, died earlier this month - one day apart. They were 94.

"It was a real love match, wasn't it?" their oldest son, Les Jr., told the Long Beach Press-Telegram. "They were together every day for 75 years."

The young Long Beach lovebirds eloped on September 19, 1937, and were married against their own parents' wishes, according to their sons.

Helen was from a working-class family, while Les was from a wealthier one. Both sides believed the love would never last ... so much for that.

13-Year-Old Boy Shoots His 6-Year-Old Sister While Playing Hide And Go Seek

Homicide detectives in Broward County, Florida are talking with a 13-year-old boy who they believe shot his 6-year-old sister.

According to NBC Miami, the shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. in Oakland Park on Saturday night.

“They were playing hide and go seek. I don’t know how it went down but he shot his sister,” neighbor Peter Milano explained.

“They just carried her out in her hands and you can tell above her chest area she had a hole where she was shot,” neighbor Justin Latoutrrette told WSVN.

Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Dani Moschella said that the two children were at home alone when the incident happened.

“We just don’t know at this point if this was an accident or if it was intentional,” Moschella said.

Three US Women Missing for Over 10 Years Rescued in Ohio

Three women who disappeared separately more than 10 years ago have been found alive in a house in Cleveland, Ohio - just a few miles from where they went missing. Police said the women had been tied up in the property and that three brothers, Hispanic men aged in their 50s, have been arrested.

Amanda Berry disappeared aged 16 on April 21, 2003, when she called her sister to say she was getting a lift home from her job at a Burger King.

Police say Ms Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight have been taken to a hospital for checks and were being reunited with relatives.

14-Year-Old Boy Hires Prostitute For Sex But Gets Piggy Bank Stolen

A teenage boy who used an iPad to arrange a meeting with an alleged prostitute ended up with a different experience than he’d intended. The boy, 14, from the Chicago suburb Prospect Heights, set up the intended encounter using a website for sexual liaisons, police say.

CBS Chicago reports when the woman arrived at the teenager’s home Wednesday, she allegedly sprayed him with pepper spray, stole the iPad, a piggy-bank and a jar full of money. Police were able to track the suspect when she later used the iPad.

Dareka Brooks, 22, of Milwaukee, was charged with one count of armed robbery. Her bond was set at $10,000. Her next court appearance is set for May 31. The teenage victim is safe, police said.

6-Month-Old Shot, Dies from Multiple Bullet Wounds

A horrific story out of Chicago today, as a six-month girl named Jonylah Watkins has died from bullet wounds suffered Monday when she was shot five times while her dad changed her diaper.

According to witnesses, a gunman opened fire on Jonathan Watkins around 1 p.m. when he was standing alongside his minivan, caring for his child in the front seat.

Police are investigating the incident, which left Jonathan with gun shots in his side and buttocks and which was NOT the first time this family was faced with such a crime.

South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard has signed into law a new bill that will allow the state's teachers to carry guns in class, according to reports.

The South Dakota law is considered to be the first of its kind.

So far, about two dozen states have proposed similar bills to arm teachers in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Connecticut.

None of them have been pushed through ... yet.

Baby Born With HER Heart on the Outside: Surviving Against All Odds

A Texas baby born with its heart on the outside of its body survived a risky surgery and now looks like she will thrive against nearly impossible odds.

The little girl's mom was told 16 weeks into her pregnancy that the fetus was developing a rare heart malformation that almost always proves fatal.

"I was devastated,” Ashley Cardenas said earlier on Today. “I didn’t really understand what they meant by her heart was on the outside of her body.”

Rather than terminate her pregnancy, Cardenas tried to beat the odds.

Her daughter, Audrina, was born with ectopia cordis, a condition in which all or part of the heart is outside of the chest - which required major surgery.
