Woman Sets Guinness World Record with 17 Month Long ‪‎Pregnancy

A woman from ‪‎China‬ allegedly set a Guinness World Record recently with her 17-month-long--and counting--pregnancy.

According to People's China Daily, the woman, named Wang Shi, became pregnant last February. Her due date was Nov. 15, but the date came and went with Wang's baby showing no intention of entering the world. 

Worried, Wang went to the hospital every seven to 10 days after her due date passed for check-ups. Doctors ruled out a Cesarean in the 14th month of pregnancy because the fetus was still in stage two--not mature enough for the operation.

Thanks to the love and support of countless individuals, the news that DJ Obi, one of Nigeria’s most notable DJ’s, was making an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon Club DJing spread like wildfire. DJ Obi set out to smash the current 200-hour record with a 240-hour, ten-day set beginning at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22nd and ending at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 2nd, 2016.

We officially announce that after 229 hours and 58 minutes of straight DJing, DJ Obi’s ten-day attempt has come to a close, due to medical advisement, at 1:28pm on Saturday, July 2nd.

Tonight’s world record attempt party will continue as planned from 9pm. Celebrity friends and people who have supported DJ Obi throughout the past ten days will be in attendance as, Nigerian rapper, M.I. performs hosting duties.

DJ Obi Sets New Guinness World Record for Longest Disc Jockeying Set

A new Guinness World Record for the longest disc-jockeying set has been achieved by Nigerian turntable specialist, DJ Obi.

Obi embarked on the quest on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Sao Café located in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos and has now surpassed the previous record of 200 hours of non-stop music spinning.

Having now spun for eight days and eight plus hours, Obi has broken the record but still gunning for more as he aims to make it 240 hours in two more days.

Nigerian Chinedu Harrison has broken and set a Guinness Book of Record for the Farthest distance walked with ball on the head. 

History was made in Lagos when Cambodia-based Nigerian footballer, Harrison Chinedu, broke the Guinness Book of World Records in the farthest distance traveled with ball balanced on the head. 

To achieve the feat, Chinedu trekked a distance of 48.04 kilometers in 6 hours, 15 minutes to break the previous record set by Indian soldier, Naib Subedar Azad Singh, who in 2014 traveled a distance of 45.64 km to erase the record set by Abdul Halim of Bangladesh who traveled a distance of 15.2 km on October 22, 2011 and additional 35 minutes to set the new record. 

Woman Sets World Records, Gives Birth To Her 14th Child From 14 Different Fathers

The Guinness World Records Book just got a lot bigger when 36-year old, Anita Sullivan, gave birth to her 14th child, by her 14th baby father on Wednesday at the Harper University Hospital.

According to the internationally recognized authority on the cataloguing and verification of world records, Anita Sullivan has just become the first woman in recorded history to conceive children with more than thirteen different men.

“I’m extremely proud to have broken a World Record,” Anita told reporters. “My mother always told me that I was lazy and worthless, and that I would never accomplish anything in my life. Now, I’ve shown everyone that she was wrong, and that I can even be the best in the world when I put my mind to something. In fact, I’ve just accomplished something that no one had done before!”

Meet Devendra Suthar, an Indian man who holds the record for the most number of fingers and toes in the world.... Seven on each hand and feet.

But Davendra is worried? Why? Not because he has a multitude of fingers. No, he is worried that he might lose one of the extra fingers he considers as God's 'blessing' because of his risky job as a carpenter.

The 43-year-old, from Himmatnagar in Gujarat, western India, has a total of 28 fingers and toes, the most digits of anyone in the world - a feat recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.

He suffers from Polydactylism, meaning he has seven fingers on each hand and seven toes in each feet - albeit two toes are joined.

Rumeysa Gelgi, a 17-year-old girl from Turkey has been named the Worlds tallest female teenager. At 7ft tall ,she received the Guinness World Record award  in her hometown of Safranbolu, Karabük.

Rumeysa whose height is caused by a condition,Weaver Syndrome( a rare genetic disorder that causes rapid growth)is also an 11th grade high school student and her parents and older siblings, are all ‘normal’ height.

R.I.P. – World’s Oldest Person Dies At The Age Of 116 In Japan

Japan’s Jiroemon Kimura, who had been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest living person and the oldest man ever, died Wednesday of natural causes. He was 116. Kimura, of Kyotango, Japan, was born April 19, 1897. Officials in Kyotango said he died in a local hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment for pneumonia.

According to Guinness, Kimura was the first man in history to have lived to 116 years old. Kimura became the oldest man ever on Dec. 28, 2012, at the age of 115 years, 253 days, breaking the record set by Christian Mortensen, a Danish immigrant to the United States, whose life spanned from 1882-1998.

Another Japanese, 115-year-old Misao Okawa, of Osaka, now holds the title of oldest living person. Okawa, who was born March 5, 1898, is also the world’s oldest living woman.

Guinness World Records: Woman Climbs Mount Everest- Twice In A Week

A young Nepalese woman has entered the record books after climbing Mount Everest twice in the same week.

Twenty-nine-year-old Chhurim Sherpa scaled the 8,850m (29,035ft) peak on May 12 and 19 last year, but her achievement has only now been officially recognised by Guinness World Records.

Nepal’s tourism minister Posta Bahadur Bogati presented Ms Chhurim’s certificate, confirming her as the first woman to climb Everest twice in the same season, to her.

New Hula Hooping World Record: Thousands Spin in Thailand [Video Inside]

Nearly 5,000 people in Thailand are celebrating after setting a new world record for the most people dancing with hula hoops simultaneously in one place.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Seyda Subasi-Gemici said that 4,483 people swung hula hoops to dance music for seven minutes without interruption.

The event drew 5,000 potential hula-hoopers to an open air stadium at Thammasat University, but 517 contestants dropped out after they failed to keep their hoops up.
