Man Brutally Rapes Church Member After Her Birthday Party

A 31-year-old man, identified only as Damilola, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman on Omole Estate, in the Ojodu area of the state.

PUNCH Metro reports that that the victim, Favour (pseudonym) and Damilola were members of a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and the woman had invited the suspect to her birthday party on Tuesday, July 19.

Favour, a National Diploma holder and fashion designer, was allegedly told by the suspect five days after the birthday party that he had a surprise gift for her.

The two were said to have gone to Damilola’s apartment on Otubor Street on Omole Estate. Only for the suspect to rape the victim in his room.

Members of CAC at Abule-Ijesha in Yaba local government, Lagos state on Sunday July 24th, threw their pastor Micheal Oni out of the church during the service, over disagreements on the disbursement of church funds and his monthly salary. 

According to a member of the church, the pastor who was recently transferred to their church from Ibadan, was demanding for a certain amount of salary which they refused to pay him. They accused him of insulting them and causing trouble in the church.

"He has been giving the church problem, causing chaos in the church and fighting members, insulting and raising bad covenant between members"Badejo Adelu, a member of the church told TVC.

Lagos State Government Seals 53 Churches, Mosques and Hotels, Over Noise Pollution

The Lagos State government, yesterday, sealed 53 churches, mosques and hotels across the metropolis over noise pollution and other environmental nuisances.
General Manager of Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, Engr. Adebola Shabi in an interview after sealing the religious houses and the hotels, said that the premises were shut following complaints from the residents.

He lamented that the premises shut were approved for residential but after few years, they were converted worship centers, saying “It has been constituting nuisance to other neighbours.”

Lightning Kills 2 Women During Prayer Session in Church

In a bizarre case of ill fate, two women, 25-year-old Chioma Jonathan and Chinonye Anyanwu, aged 26, died when they were struck by lightning.

The unfortunate incident happened when the two women went to participate in the regular Holy Ghost Hour prayer session of Heavenly Sure Charismatic Church, a Pentecostal church, usually held in the premises of Comprehensive Secondary School, Emekuku in Owerri North LGA, Imo State.

25-year-old Chioma Jonathan was a native of Obiangwu in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area and Chinonye Anyanwu, aged 26, from Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, both in Imo State.

Also affected in the lightning strike was the 54-year-old General Overseer of the church, Pastor Luke Nwokocha, who led the short-lived prayer session.

Pastor Snatches Wife Of Church Member In Osun, Nigeria

A Customary Court in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Monday dissolved a marriage of 10 years between a log seller, Olusola Onifade and his wife, Simbiatu when the man declared that their pastor, Femi Olayinka had snatched the woman from him.

Olusola urged the court to dissolve the marriage because Pastor Femi Olayinka has taken the woman from him and that he was just a figurehead husband while the pastor was in charge of the woman.

He also told the court that the Pastor had threatened to kill him if he refused to leave the woman for him.

Unknown to everyone the 18-years old was just a victim of pastor Oprite Amakiri who has raped her three times with a threat to deal with her if she expose him.

Archbishop Caught Faking 'Miracle' Olive Oil As Cancer Cure

A FAKE "Archbishop" has been caught flogging olive oil from Aldi as a mystery cure for cancer and HIV.

Gilbert Deya is also fleecing church-goers with cash-for-miracles scams.

The 63-year-old, who refers to himself as the Archbishop of Peckham, was caught selling the £1.99 product from Aldi for £4.99 as a cure for disease when used on food.

According to The Sun, who carried out an undercover investigation, Deya claimed to have anointed the oil while his associate handed out leaflets detailing his "mystical powers".

Journalists working for the newspaper posed for two months as a husband and his cancer-hit wife to investigate the church.

Pastor Uses Machete on Wife for Missing Church Programme

An Ogun State Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Owode Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, yesterday, remanded a Pastor, Samuel Daniel in prison for using a machete on his wife.

He was arraigned on a two-count charge of assault and providing false information, which is punishable under Sections 338 and 192 criminal code Vol 1 law of Ogun State, 2006.

The accused, who was a Pastor with an Apostolic Church in Ode Remo area of the state, reportedly went to his wife’s place of work at Itori village in Owode-Egba on December 10, 2013 and used the machete on her for abandoning church programmes.

Pastor in Trouble For Testing Church Member’s Virginity

Thirty four-year-old Pastor Adekunle Kayode has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly fingering a member of his church (name withheld) to confirm her virginity. The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday within the premises of the Jesus is the Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta.

A father of one, Kayode, was arrested by police detectives attached to the Kemta division after the victim allegedly narrated her ordeal to her father who informed the police. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest.

He said, “Kayode was arrested at his home on Okediyi Street, Abeokuta. Another suspect, Onatade Oluwasegun, 23, of Sheriff Onatade Street, Obantoko, was also arrested for conspiring with Kayode to use the victim for ritual purposes.

Truck kills Woman, 37, While Praying in Church

Tragedy struck, on Thursday, when a  middle-aged woman was  crushed to death while praying  inside a church in Sotunbo, area along the busy Sagamu/Ikorodu road in  Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun state.

The  incident, which occurred at about 6.00 am, was reported to be the second in three weeks in the same church. According to an eye-witness, the tipper with number plate XM 594 SMK was  from Sagamu end of the road, but had a blowout in one of its front tyres, making the driver lose control and  rammed into the church.

Via Minnesota CBS Local: Serge Vorobyov — who goes by the YouTube handle “Serge the Car Hauler” — threw $1,000 in dollar bills from the fourth floor of the Mall of America rotunda as a choir performed “Let it Snow” on the ground floor below.

Serge said the reason he surprised everyone and tossed out the cascade of cash is because he’s had a rough year and just wanted to help other people on Black Friday.

“People think it’s an evil number, I thought it was supposed to be a lucky number,” he said on a YouTube vlog explaining the event. “I went through a horrible divorce, and she even took the cat and won’t tell me where it is. I thought I would just spread some holiday cheer … pay it forward.”

Nigerian Comedian Julius Agwu Takes Comedy To Church

Multiple awards winning comedian, Julius Agwu, stages his annual comedy show, Laff 4 Christ Sake, today, Sunday July 28th, 2013.

For the first time, the event will be holding in the church. The annual event, which attracts celebs and fans of the music comedian, holds at The Dome of This Present House, Lekki in Lagos. The church is led by Tony Rapu and incidentally, Julius Agwu is one of its members.

An array of comedians slated to perform at the show are Senator, Funnybone, Akpororo, Owen Gee, Mc Abbey, Acapella, Mc Longs and Mc Jay. Musicians on the bill are Tim Godfrey and the Extreme Crew, Frank Edwards and Tosin Martins.

According to the comedian, his pastor urged him to hold the event at the church, which is his place of worship. His pastor, Tony Rapu, was part of the event last year and this spurred him to host the comedy show at The Dome.

“It’s open to everyone to come and experience God in an atmosphere of laughter,” Julius says.   The London edition of Crack Ya Ribs show is set to hold in a couple of weeks.

Police Parade Gay Pastor For Allegedly Raping Church Member

After the act, the pastor allegedly threatened to kill his victim if he disclosed the act to the public. Speaking to Vanguard, Pastor Ogbebor simply said: “God will judge, go and talk to others” and kept on mumbling.

As the Edo State Police Command, paraded 26 suspected criminals including a pastor identified as Philips Ogbebor, alleged to have had carnal knowledge of a 20-year-old male member of his church (names withheld).

But his victim narrated his ordeal: “I told him I have never done this since I grew up, but he insisted. It was painful and I told him I will not allow it again. So after the second attempt, I told him I will expose the act. He then administered an oath on me, saying if I ever told any one, I will die. “He carried sand and olive oil and poured them on my head, then he wore black garment, saying I will die if I ever leaked the secret. He killed a black fowl and gave me the liver and gizzard to eat at about 2 a.m., threatening that if I ever said it out, I will die like the fowl.

Church Guard Hangs Himself Within Premises

A church guard identified as Matthew Isidahume, reportedly committed suicide, yesterday, with his lifeless body found dangling within the premises of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Gbagura, Ago-Oka, in Abeokuta North Local Government of Ogun State. Members of the church who converged for the morning prayers, it was learnt, discovered the corpse of the 67-year-old, where he allegedly hung himself.

Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident said three guards were supposed to be on duty when the incident happened.

WTF? Church Of Scotland To Now Allow Gay Ministers

Hmmmmm, What's the world becoming? Well at least they can now be openly gay instead of being all sneaky with it, right??

Raw Story: is Reporting that The Church of Scotland on Monday voted to allow gay ministers following years of debate between the liberal and traditionalist sides of the church.

Scottish gay rights campaigners praised the move but the Free Church of Scotland called it a fudge.

The General Assembly pledged commitment to its “current doctrine and practice in relation to human sexuality” but said it would not prevent liberal congregations to opt out of the convention. The assembly will re-analyse the decision at next year’s meeting and draft new regulations if it decides to implement the result of Monday’s historic vote.
