Pastor Snatches Wife Of Church Member In Osun, Nigeria

A Customary Court in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Monday dissolved a marriage of 10 years between a log seller, Olusola Onifade and his wife, Simbiatu when the man declared that their pastor, Femi Olayinka had snatched the woman from him.

Olusola urged the court to dissolve the marriage because Pastor Femi Olayinka has taken the woman from him and that he was just a figurehead husband while the pastor was in charge of the woman.

He also told the court that the Pastor had threatened to kill him if he refused to leave the woman for him.

The life of a bread seller in Lagos is easily imaginable: exposure to the elements, to sundry abuse, including the possibility of being raped by unruly artisans and bachelors, who will offer to buy bread and something else along with it, if the hawker is willing. 

This was Olajumoke Orisaguna’s reality until she ran into TY Bello and Tinie Tempah and her life changed. Today, she has been enrolled as a model. Her story has appeared in all newspapers, on CNN, Huffington Post, and virtually everywhere online.

Man Dies Digging Grave to Steal Human Skull in Osun state

An unidentified young man in Ilobu community, in the Irepodun LGA of Osun State, was found head deep in a grave in the early hours of Wednesday May 14th, after allegedly attempting to cut off the head of a corpse, buried in Tonto compound in the area, Saturday Tribune reports

The suspect’s accomplices fled in terror after seeing half his body get stuck mysteriously in the grave. His death has generated concern among the terrified residents of the Ilobu community.

It was gathered that the victim and his partners in crime allegedly came to Tonto compound in the early hours of Wednesday with a plot to exhume the corpse of an aged woman and sever her decomposed head, allegedly for ritual purposes. 

OPC Rescues Raped Teenager In Lagos

Members of the O’odua People’s Congress, OPC, and concerned Lagosians have rescued a teenager (name withheld), who was raped, robbed and abandoned by an unidentified man in Agege area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

P.M.NEWS learnt that the OPC members saw the secondary schoolgirl on in a traumatized state at a public toilet near NITEL Office, at Oko Oba, Agege.

And after giving her first aid treatment, the teenager was handed over to the police at the Agege Elere Police Divisional Headquarters, who referred her to Orile Agege General Hospital,  Agege for a comprehensive medical treatment.

The teenager, who will be 15 years by August, narrated that she came from Osun State and was on her way to Badagry to stay with her aunty who had just given birth, but decided to have a stay the night at Agege, when it became late (around 9.p.m.) and she couldn’t get a bus to her destination.

Tension As Masquerades Storm Troubled Osun School

For two days running, tension continues to mount in Iwo, Osun state as situation at Baptist High School, Iwo yesterday took a new dimension when some students of the school mobilized masquerades to the school.

The students of the school, it was gathered also appeared in masquerade attire and prevented academic activities in the school for several hours.
The masquerades, it was gathered were mobilized to the school by some students with the collaboration of some traditionalists in the town as various religious organizations have taken interest in the crisis rocking the education sector in he state.

Confusion over different school uniforms. The students of the school on Tuesday caused confusion in the school as they appeared in different clothes that correlate with their religious beliefs.

There was confusion at Baptist High School, Iwo, Osun State on Tuesday as some pupils shunned their uniforms and wore choir gowns, white garments, Islamic apparel   and other unconventional dresses to the school. Although no group or individual could be identified as the mastermind of the bizarre dress code by the pupils, there were, however, conflicting reasons for the behaviour.

 

While some people said the unconventional dresses were a way of registering dislike for the same uniform introduced by the government for all schools in the state,  others said some Christians who were opposed to wearing of hijab in schools founded by Christian missionaries orchestrated the drama. The suit instituted on the issue of hijab wearing to school is still pending before an Osun State High Court.
