Family Took In Friend’s Six Children After Their Mother Died of Cancer

A mother had so much love for her friend that she that she adopted all six of her children after she died of cancer.

Stephanie Culley and her husband Donnie, from Virginia, already had three children of their own, but when Beth Laitkep realised she wasn’t going to survive her illness, they knew what they had to do.

They told her yes, they could raise her six, aged between two years old and 15 – and let her pass away last month in peace, knowing they would be looked after.

‘I wanted her to live so much. No mother ever deserved to live and raise their kids as much as her,’ Stephanie told CBS. ‘I mean, they needed her.’

Mother Suspected of Killing and Dismembering Bodies of Her Three Sons

The partially dismembered bodies of three young boys were found in their house after their mother was hospitalised with self-inflicted stab wounds.

Police in Phoenix, Arizona said the 29-year-old mother is suspected in the killings of her three sons, who are aged eight, five and two months.

The woman remains in a critical condition in hospital, having been discovered by her brother with the injuries to her neck and abdomen.

Detectives later found the children’s bodies in a closet, with the youngest child stuffed in a suitcase.

Phoenix Police Sergeant Trent Crump said ‘parts of the bodies were dismembered’, adding: ‘(It was) an absolutely horrific scene for the officers and the brother. Nobody wants to see this happen to a child, nobody.’

Indian Mother Give Birth to Conjoined Twins Sharing Nearly Every Organ

An Indian mother has given birth to conjoined twins who have two sets of hands but share one pair of legs.

The twins - a boy and girl - also share nearly every vital organ.

Their mother, Shivrajo Devi, 24, gave birth at a private clinic in a village in Buxar, Bihar, eastern India, on Wednesday evening. 

However their condition soon began to deteriorate and they were moved to Sadar Hospital in the city where medics gave them preliminary treatment in neo-natal intensive care unit.

Dr Raj Kumar Gupta, a paediatrician at Sadar Hospital, said: ‘They are fused from the waist and only one genital is visible which is of a girl.

'Even though the second genital is missing, we suspect the face of the second baby is a boy, which makes this case even more rare as conjoined twins are usually of the same gender.’

A man identified as Ejike Nwankwo Ohagba from Ezigbo village, Igbo-Ukwu com­munity, Aguata Local Govern­ment Area of Anambra State on Thursday, April 7, went crazy and threw his mother into an abandoned well in his father’s compound. He then threw blocks into the well to kill her.

According to Anambra State news, the 30-year-old suspect had earlier in September 2015 allegedly killed two of his siblings in the same well, set his family house ablaze and disappeared only to re­appear last week to kill his mother.

"The suspect’s mother, late Mrs Christiana Nwankwo Ohagba, a widow, took off from where she was taking refuge since her family house was burnt to do some farming with a 14-year old boy, Chiemerie at the family compound. Meanwhile, the source said, the suspect was hiding somewhere within the compound, with his mother completely unaware of the danger lurking around the premises."

A woman has given birth to five healthy daughters in just half an hour despite only thinking she was pregnant with one child.

Manita Singh, 25, was admitted to a local government hospital in Ambikapur, in Chhattisgarh in eastern India, yesterday morning after complaining of labour pains at 26 weeks of pregnancy.

The doctors, who started delivering the babies at 11am found she was carrying not one but five baby girls – because Manita had never had an ultrasound.

The babies, all weighing just over 3lbs each, are under doctor’s supervision in the neo-natal Intensive Care Unit.

The father of the infants, Mahesh Singh, 26, is extremely happy with the birth of his daughters.

Marlene Cowens, 44, has been raking in a cool £5,000 each year since she signed up to a specialist dating website. Men pay up to £350 for just an hour or two in Ms Cowens’ company, which is at a cinema or restaurant.

Ms Cowens, from New York, says she rarely sleeps with her dates. Out of 90 dates, she has slept with two.

‘It’s the best of both worlds. I get a nice night out and I get paid for it,’ she said.

The money helped Ms Cowens to pay part of the funeral of her mother Maria, who died aged 68 last year.

‘I had to do what I had to do to make it happen,’ Ms Cowens said.

Ms Cowen, who works as a secretary for a construction company, is urging other women to follow her example.

A 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Oniyide, who allegedly stabbed his mother to death at 3, Olubunmi Christopher Drive, off Arowolo Street, Abule Egba area of Lagos state, has been remanded in prison.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Maria Dauda, told the court that Ibrahim killed his mother, Tawa Oniyide, by stabbing her with a kitchen knife all over her body.

“The suspect on the fateful day had gone to introduce a woman to his mother as his future wife, demanding that she accommodate her.

“The deceased disagreed with her son on the issue, refusing to accept the eight months old pregnant woman into her house.

“She said she was not interested in her and that her son should have brought the woman when the pregnancy was still in the early stage.

Man Kills His Father Over Quarrelling with Mother in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria

A 25-year old man, Mfreke Effiong, from Ikot Akpainyang Asutan village, in the Ibesikpo/Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has allegedly killed his father, Mr. Archibong Effiong. 

It was learnt that Archibong and his wife had a disagreement during which Mfreke picked up a plank and hit his father on the head.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Cordelia Nwawe, said on Thursday that the murder suspect had confessed to the crime.

“The young man murdered his father by using a plank to hit him on his head; the young man will be charged to court after investigation,” she said.

Barber Stabs His Mother To Death in Lagos

A barber, Ibrahim Oluyinde, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother to death in the Abule Egba area of the state.

Oluyinde, who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State, allegedly killed his mother on Friday claiming that she was responsible for his father’s death which occurred sometime last year, Punch reports.

It was learnt that at about 2pm on Friday, Oluyinde, paid a visit to his mother in her rented apartment on Bunmi Christopher Close. The duo were indoors until an argument erupted.

The mother, whose name had yet to be ascertained, was said to have raised the alarm, and thereafter begged her son not to kill her.

Neighbours were said to have rushed to the scene where they saw the woman in a pool of blood.

Carla Gilliland had gunned down her son Parker Gilliland-Wampler, 15, and their dead bodies were discovered inside their burning house in Ellettsville, Indiana on Thursday.

The Monroe County Coroner has ruled Parker’s death a homicide, and his mother’s death a suicide.

Mother Abandons Day-Old Baby in Lagos

An unidentified mother has dumped a day-old baby by the road side in Lagos.

The baby, a male child, was abandoned at a point near Abule Onigbagbo Bus Stop, Ikeja.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday.

The baby was wrapped with an ankara and left to either be rescued by passersby or die.

He was, however, lucky as some residents of the area saw him around 7.30am and surrounded him, cursing the mother that subjected him to that cruel fate.

The chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Mr. Babatunde Oke, was informed about the presence of an abandoned baby in his council area.

He was said to have reached out to the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Mr.Gbenga Adedeji, who went to the scene with an ambulance. Adedeji reported took the child away.
