Chinese Woman Set Hotel Ablaze to Kill Lover in Lagos, Nigeria

Forty-seven-year-old Zhen Zhen attempted to kill her lover, Leo Feng, 41, when she set Ernest Hotel in the Ikeja area of Lagos on fire.

The hotel attendant, Emeka Nwaegbo, said this at the resumed hearing of the case at the Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s court.

Nwaegbo told the court that Zhen accused Feng of sleeping with her without giving her food, which informed her decision.

PUNCH Metro had reported that the lovers checked into the hotel on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, on July 4.

It was alleged that the couple smoked and shunned the warning of the hotel attendant to stop the act.

However, around 2am on July 5, the hotel was said to have been gutted by fire.
The couple were arrested by the police and the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

Five Dead And 20 Wounded After Gunman Opens Fire in Crowded Serbia Cafe

At least five people are dead and 20 wounded after a gunman opened fire in a packed cafe in Serbia.

The man, who has been identified only as Z. S., reportedly killed his wife and another woman before entering a cafe armed with an assault rifle in the early hours of this morning.

Police say the suspect was arrested at the scene in a village close to Zrenjanin, which is some 50km north-west of Belgrade, and remains in custody.

‘He just pulled out a gun and started shooting, first into the air,’ one of the witnesses, Svetozar Manojlovic, Serbian state TV.

‘I Was Totally Devastated but God Kept Me’ – Kate Henshaw Writes A Year After Her House Fire

Exactly one year ago, fire engulfed the residence of Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw.
It’s been one year, and Kate remembers the ugly incident as she shared a never-seen-before photo from the scene with the caption;

‘I will exalt you Lord, thou has lifted me, above my enemies, your banner over me is love. This picture was never released. One of many I kept.
‘This was the room I slept in, wall to wall was filled but it was wiped out by fire so that the roof even melted away and there you see the sky. My driver, stood there speechless at the site! I was totally devastated but God kept me!

Photo: Lagos Landlady Allegedly Sets Tenant’s Apartment On Fire to Eject Him

One Mrs Nike Azeez who is a landlady in the Ijegun community of Lagos state, has been accused of setting the home of one of her tenants, Adeleke Shakiru on fire just to remove him from her compound. The incident happened on Tuesday April 12th.

According to PM News, Nike and Shakiru have been at loggerheads over the use of his generator in her compound.

Nike and her husband, Jamiu, had asked Shakiru to stop using his generator in their compound, a directive that caused a friction between them after Shakiru refused to heed to their request, saying he needed to use his generator to charge his phones and provide his wife and his 2 year old son some comfort.

Miami Sex Offender Sets Fire To Home Because Lesbians Lived There

A 73-year-old Miami man, who is also a registered sex offender, faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, arson, and committing a hate crime after he allegedly tried to burn down a home with two women and eight children inside because the women are lesbians.
Via WTSP reports: Miami-Dade Police said Braulio Valenzuela-Villanueva, 73, entered the lot next door to his on NW 27th Avenue and allegedly set fire to a mattress that was leaning against the wall of the trailer occupied by the women and children.
Police said as the fire began to get worse, “the defendant hurried back to his residence.” The fire began to burn the trailer, but there were no smoke detectors inside, police said. A neighbor from across the street saw the fire and began to alert people of the impending danger.

Indian Girl Dies After Rape, Being Set on Fire


An Indian girl reportedly died in a hospital on Wednesday after being raped by three men the night before, then set on fire, according to several news reports.
The girl, aged 13 or 14 and from a village in the northern state Uttar Pradesh, had sustained burns covering 80% of her body, the Times of India reports.
The girl’s family told police she was returning from a farm with her older sister when three villagers dragged her away and raped her. When she said she would tell others in the village, her attackers set her on fire. By the time the girl’s sister had returned with help, the girl was severely burned.

Man Sets Pregnant Girlfriend On Fire


The Sun Newspapers is Reporting that, Until June 23, not many could have suspected that all was not well between Emeka Agu, 28, and his pregnant girlfriend, Miss Bidemi Akinsolufe. That night, disaster struck in their home in Ayobo area of Lagos, as Emeka allegedly set his lover ablaze.
The reason? To prevent the lady from charming other men with her beauty. Nearly a month after, Bidemi still writhes in pain at the Gbagada General Hospital, even as Emeka awaits his date with the law. The reporter met the badly burnt lady on her hospital bed and she narrated what led to the sad incident.“I started dating him last year but my boyfriend is very jealous. Even whenever my sister called me, he would want to call back to be sure it wasn’t a man that called me. “He was working before and had his own place but he later lost his job and had no place to stay. I secured a mini-flat in Ayetoro and asked him to join me there.

Fire Consumes Family Of Six In Port Harcourt


A family of six perished in an early morning inferno yesterday in Port Harcourt. Nobody could say what caused the fire but neighbors of the deceased family members told Sunday Vanguard that the fire started at about 2pm. According to the landlord of the house, located at number 17, New Estate Road, Railway Quarters,  they heard was a loud explosion. What followed next, he stated,  were balls of fire. The residents claimed they ran out of their apartments in the confusion, adding that the explosion came from the apartment of the deceased family members.

They said three boys, a girl and their parents were those consumed in the fire. They put the ages of the children at twenty two, seventeen, nine and seven years. According to a source, two other daughters of the deceased parents were not at home when the incident occurred. It was  gathered that the two other children relocated from home to write the ongoing West African  Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE. Neighbors said the father  was a taxi driver while the wife was a petty trader.

Passengers Escape Death as Bus Catches Fire


There was pandemonium at the Ox Bow Lake Road junction, Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, after a bus went up in flames in a traffic jam. People at the scene of the incident observed that the thick ball of flame that emanated from the Mitsubishi L300 bus forced motorists to flee the area.
The scene immediately attracted onlookers and sympathisers, who initially mistook the vehicle for a passenger bus. But two persons, a driver and a passenger, struggled out of the bus unhurt.
