Priest Caught Snorting Cocaine On Camera

Footage has emerged of a Catholic priest caught on video snorting what appeared to be cocaine.

Fr Stephen Crossan is reported to have snorted coke through a £10 note during a night of drinking in his home in July 2015 in Banbridge, County Down.
He was in a room containing Nazi memorabilia, and the Irish Sun obtained the video which shows the priest saying

'I shouldn't' before snorting the white powder off a plate. “It was just the one night and that was it. I do not have an issue with drugs," said Crossman after he admitted to taking the drugs.

Pope Francis Asks Forgiveness For Priests Who Abused Children

Pope Francis on Friday asked for forgiveness for priests who molested children in some of his strongest words ever on the Roman Catholic Church's sexual abuse crisis.

"I feel compelled to personally take on all the evil which some priests, quite a few in number, obviously not compared to the number of all the priests, to personally ask for forgiveness for the damage they have done for having sexually abused children," he told members of a children's' rights group according to Vatican Radio.

An Italian priest has given Pope Francis a 20-year-old white Renault 4 to drive himself around Vatican city. The car - which has 300,000 km (190,000 miles) on the clock - was presented to the Pope by Father Renzo Zocca at the weekend. The pontiff later drove it. Known for his humble lifestyle, Francis said he used to drive the same car in his native Argentina. In a bid to encourage austerity in the Church, the Pope has urged officials to avoid using expensive limousines.

A Catholic priest, Franciscan Father Francois Murad has been killed in Syria, it has been confirmed by the official Vatican news agency. Francois Murad is said to have died after fighters linked to the jihadist group Jabhat al-Nusra attacked the monastery he was staying at, local sources say.

Catholic Online links to amateur footage purporting to show the 49-year-old's horrific death and reports: "The Vatican is confirming the death by beheading of Franciscan Father, Francois Murad, who was martyred by Syrian jihadists on June 23."
