NDLEA Discovers Cocaine Hidden in Shoes

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested three suspects after discovering some cocaine inside shoe soles at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The consignment of shoes in which the drugs were found originated from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The owner of the luggage was arrested alongside two other suspects said to have excreted ingested drugs.

According to the NDLEA spokesperson, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, 3.950kg of cocaine was recovered from the suspects.

Man Arrested in Lagos Trying To Smuggle Cocaine in His Underwear (Boxers)

Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have discovered twenty-eight packs of Tramadol weighing 21.99kgs inside a DJ Rack box and 1.8kgs of cocaine in boxer shorts.The seizure was made at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The Tramadol which was hidden among camera items was intercepted during pre-shipment inspection.

The consignment was destined for Congo Brazzaville in central Africa. Another suspect was also caught with 1.8kg of cocaine in his boxer shorts on his way from Dubai. Both suspects are being investigated.

Flight Attendant Who Ran From Security Check, Leaving Behind Cocaine-Filled Luggage Arrested in New York

A 32-year-old flight attendant who fled a security check allegedly leaving behind 68 pounds of cocaine and her Gucci shoes has been arrested in New York on Wednesday March 23, NBC News reports.

Marsha Gay Reynolds, a former Jamaican beauty queen, surrendered in New York and was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute in a federal criminal complaint. Court papers did not say what airline employed Reynolds, but a source told NBC News she worked for Jet Blue.

According to NBC News, the suspect went on the lam Friday night after she showed up for a flight out of Los Angeles International Airport and was selected for a random screening.

The attendant who normally would get to bypass bag screening as a crew member — became visibly nervous and made a phone call in a "foreign language," Transportation Security Administration officers told police.

Priest Caught Snorting Cocaine On Camera

Footage has emerged of a Catholic priest caught on video snorting what appeared to be cocaine.

Fr Stephen Crossan is reported to have snorted coke through a £10 note during a night of drinking in his home in July 2015 in Banbridge, County Down.
He was in a room containing Nazi memorabilia, and the Irish Sun obtained the video which shows the priest saying
'I shouldn't' before snorting the white powder off a plate. “It was just the one night and that was it. I do not have an issue with drugs," said Crossman after he admitted to taking the drugs.

NDLEA Arrests Mother Of Three With 904 Grammes of Cocaine at Abuja Airport

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) yesterday arrested Mrs. Saidat Bola Hassan at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. 

The 48 year old mother of three was scheduled to fly to Jedda, Saudi Arabia, via an Egypt Airline flight en-route Cairo when she was apprehended during screening.

She had ingested about 80 wraps of a white powdery substance weighing 904 grammes that later tested positive for cocaine.

NDLEA Abuja airport Commander Mr. Hamisu Lawan said that efforts were made to protect her from any harm resulting from drug ingestion.

“As soon as we discovered that the suspected wraps she vomited tested positive for cocaine, we took measures to ensure her safety by preventing any harm that may result from drug ingestion.

Man Nabbed With 1.370kg of Cocaine at Lagos Airport

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), yesterday, arrested a 34-year- old drug suspect with 1.370 kilogrammes of whitish powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The suspect, Mr. Nriagwu Augustine Ifeanyi, was apprehended during the screening of passengers on a Turkish Airline flight at the departure hall of the airport.

Speaking on the arrest, NDLEA Commander at the Lagos Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, noted that the suspect hid the drug and packed them in two parcels inside a laptop bag.

NDLEA Arrests Two with Cocaine, Diazepam Injections

An electronics merchant, Udoji Chike, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, for being in possession of eight kilogrammes of Diazepam injections.

The NDLEA also arrested an alleged drug trafficker for being in possession of 80 wraps of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State.

The discovery in Lagos was said to have been made at the departure hall of the airport while the suspect was about to board an Arik flight to Liberia.

NDLEA’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said the injections were disguised as packs of Alabukun powder, an unregulated drug.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Had '70 bags of Heroin' in His Home

New York City police have found up to 70 bags of suspected heroin inside actor Philip Seymour Hoffman's home a day after his death, US media report. The Oscar-winning star, 46, was found dead at his Greenwich Village home on Sunday with a syringe in his arm.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out on Monday. Police suspect Hoffman died of an overdose. The lights along theatre marquees on New York's Broadway were to be dimmed on Wednesday in honour of Hoffman.

The actor earned three Tony award nominations for his work in New York theatre. Hoffman is survived by his partner Mimi O'Donnell and their three children. In a statement, his family said: "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil."

Burundian arrested with 2.390kg heroin at Lagos International Airport


Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for trafficking substances found to be heroin have arrested a Burundian, Aisha Uwimana.
A statement by the NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said Uwimana was caught at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport with 2.390 kilogrammes of heroin hidden in her hand luggage. She had boarded Rwanda Air from Burundi into Nigeria.

NDLEA Arrest Man With N82m Worth of Cocaine in Kitchen Utensils

A Lagos-based businessman, Asogwa Ochiabuto, has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for smuggling 7.45kg of cocaine hidden in flasks and kitchen utensils into the country. In a statement by the NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, on Tuesday, the discovery was made during the inward screening of passengers onboard an Ethiopian Airline flight from Brazil.

The agency added that the drug, which was industrially concealed inside food flasks and kitchen utensils, tested positive for cocaine and weighed 7.45kg. It is estimated to have a value of N82m, the single largest seizure recorded at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, since January. NDLEA Abuja Airport Commander, Mr. Hamisu Lawan, said the arrest was made following intensive screening by narcotic officers.

Textile Merchant Arrested With N57m Worth Of Cocaine In Lagos


A 32-year-old textile merchant, Paul Emujue, has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for importing 5.745kg of cocaine worth N57m. Emujue was said to have hidden the cocaine inside laptop bags. He was said to be on his way from Sao Paulo, Brazil, when he was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

A statement by NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said NDLEA Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, confirmed the arrest. NDLEA Chairman, Ahmadu Giade, said, “The agency will continue to arrest drug traffickers and charge them to court. This arrest is commendable. Members of the public must note that it is wrong to raise capital from drug trafficking because anyone that ventures into the criminal act will be prosecuted. I urge stakeholders to partner with the NDLEA in fighting drug trafficking.”

N72m Worth Of Cocaine Seized At Lagos Airport


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has seized 364 wraps of high- grade Brazilian cocaine, weighing 6.490kg and valued at N72m.
The NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said on Monday that the seizure was made at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
He added that a 32-year-old suspect, Francis Bawaba, was arrested in connection with the discovery, which was made during the inward screening of passengers on an Etihad flight.
The wraps of cocaine were said to have been prepared for ingestion and hidden inside Bawaba’s hand luggage.

A Canadian national has been arrested in Colombia after trying to board a flight to Toronto with a phony pregnant belly stuffed with cocaine, police say. The tourist caught the attention of a policewoman at Bogota's International Airport who allegedly asked her how far along she was.
She reacted aggressively, which aroused the suspicion of officials who went on to search her. This year, nearly 150 people were caught with drugs at Bogota's airport. About a third of them were foreign nationals, according to the Colombian authorities.

Grandma Arrested in Nigeria With Cocaine In Hair


Giwa Ayoka Sikirat, a 53-year old grandmother, has been arrested with cocaine hidden in her hair, Nigeria’s anti-drug agency said on Monday.

Sikirat was apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja, the Nigerian Capital, while on her way to Pakistan, the agency said.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said the suspect was arrested at the weekend following the discovery and seizure of a kilogramme of white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.

“The suspect, Giwa Ayoka Sikirat concealed the drug in her beautiful hair style while trying to board an Ethiopian airline Flight ET 910 to Pakistan enroute Addis Ababa and Dubai,” NDLEA said in a statement.

NDLEA Arrests Barber with N50m Worth of Cocaine




The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has arrested a Nigerian hair barber who is based in South Africa, for having in his possession 6.100kg substance suspected to be cocaine, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The 45-year-old suspect identified as Ozoh Hycenth Chukwuemeka, was caught during the outward clearance of passengers on board Arik Air to South Africa.
