Photos: NSCDC Arrests Two Suspects With Fake Naira Notes

Nemesis caught up with two suspects who were found in possession of some fake naira notes in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital on Friday.

The two suspects are: Ademola Abiodun, 28, who resides at Ajiboye street, Ile-Epo, Lagos state and Ajarat Sulaiman, 30, of Ajilogba – Aso area, Ifo, Ogun state.

The suspects were arrested by men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ogun state command.

In a statement issued and signed by the Command spokesman, Kareem Olanrewaju, the attention of its official on surveillance were drawn to a mob action around Vespa bus-stop area of Ifo, in Ifo local government area of Ogun State.

Secondary School Student Dies During Money Ritual in Ogun, Nigeria

16-year-old, Raimi Fatai, from Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, reportedly died while trying to make money rituals. It was gathered the deceased whose father is a herbalist had wanted to make money ritual by himself so he gathered 3 of his friends and copied some of his Dad's written money ritual process. 

However, the plan to use his Dad's process was unsuccessful which led to his death.

According to P.M News, this incident took place during the Valentine period.

Fatai reportedly followed the instructions from the copy of his Dad's money ritual process and consumed some substance, which he also administered to one of his other friends.  

He fell ill shortly and died 2 days later while his other friend is said to be in a critical condition in a hospital in Abeokuta.

Barber Stabs His Mother To Death in Lagos

A barber, Ibrahim Oluyinde, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother to death in the Abule Egba area of the state.

Oluyinde, who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State, allegedly killed his mother on Friday claiming that she was responsible for his father’s death which occurred sometime last year, Punch reports.

It was learnt that at about 2pm on Friday, Oluyinde, paid a visit to his mother in her rented apartment on Bunmi Christopher Close. The duo were indoors until an argument erupted.

The mother, whose name had yet to be ascertained, was said to have raised the alarm, and thereafter begged her son not to kill her.

Neighbours were said to have rushed to the scene where they saw the woman in a pool of blood.

'I Cut Her Neck With Cutlass For Sacking Me' - Houseboy Who Killed Magistrate Says

David Idah, the houseboy of  retired Chief Magistrate Funmilola Timeyin who killed her at her residence in Laderin Estate in Abeokuta on March 28th says he killed her because she sacked him. 

Idah, in an interview with Punch, said he and his boss had a good relationship when he started working with her but they fell out when she started to complain about his attitude. Idah says he wasn't paid his salary and so stole two mobile phones, a DVD player, speakers, perfume, wrist watches, three trousers and four shirts belonging to her son in order to sell them, get money and leave.

She discovered he had stolen these items and invited the police who came in and was about to begin prosecution of the 21 year old Benue indigine when she (Justice Timeyin) pleaded with them to let him off the hook and even wrote a letter of withdrawal to the police. She said she did not want Idah tried but she sacked him and told him not return to work for her again. Continue...

Policeman Runs Amok, Kills Self Wife, 5 Others

PANDEMONIUM broke out in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital yesterday, when  a police corporal, Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi, went berserk, shot dead his wife, a  landlady,  two year-old girl and three others before killing himself.

After killing his estranged wife who was also a policewoman, Corporal Oluwatosin Faremi, attached to the Obantoko Police Division, the rampaging police corporal reportedly shot dead a commercial  motorcycle rider, and five members of a family, before shooting himself dead immediately.

The tragic incident which occurred at Akingbala area of Eleweran, Abeokuta, at 7:02 am  reportedly forced some policemen to abscond  from their duty posts.

Also, residents of the area fled the place to avoid being caught in the mayhem.

It was gathered that in the process, three other persons sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba for treatment.

Pastor in Trouble For Testing Church Member’s Virginity

Thirty four-year-old Pastor Adekunle Kayode has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly fingering a member of his church (name withheld) to confirm her virginity. The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday within the premises of the Jesus is the Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta.

A father of one, Kayode, was arrested by police detectives attached to the Kemta division after the victim allegedly narrated her ordeal to her father who informed the police. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest.

He said, “Kayode was arrested at his home on Okediyi Street, Abeokuta. Another suspect, Onatade Oluwasegun, 23, of Sheriff Onatade Street, Obantoko, was also arrested for conspiring with Kayode to use the victim for ritual purposes.

Man Kills Friend Over Alleged Affair With His Wife


The Nigeria police in Ogun have arrested a 30-year-old panel beater, Wasiu Yusuf, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Adeolu Olatoye, to death in Abeokuta. Another suspect in the alleged killing of the 32-year-old graphic artist, Mukaila Popoola, is currently on the run.
The suspect’s wife, 26-year-old Busayo, is also in detention at the Adatan Police Station. The victim, the suspect and his alleged accomplice lived in the same premises before the incident.
Yusuf and his accomplice in their residence in the Oke-Efon area of Abeokuta for allegedly having an affair with his wife allegedly killed Adeolu. Olatoye was said to have met his death barely two weeks after he named his newborn child.

LandLord Sets 6 People On Fire For Smoking Indian Hemp


Six young men accused of smoking Indian hemp and gambling have been set ablaze in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, by a house owner in their area.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that the landlord, identified as Agba, in Ago-Oko area of the town where the incident occurred, had warned the boys on several occasions to desist from their acts, warnings they ignored.
However, on Tuesday night, the boys engaged in their acts in their regular building which infuriated Agba, their neighbour. The landlord subsequently poured a keg of petrol, through his window on the first floor of a storey building, on the boys.
