Video: SEYI SHAY JOINS UNITED NATIONS CAMPAIGN TO EMPOWER WOMEN GLOBALLY

Raving songstress Seyi Shay continues waving the Nigerian flag highest wherever she goes and in her latest project she joins artists from around the world including Gigi Lamayne and Moneoa from South Africa, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez from Sri Lanka, M.O from the UK, Taylor Hatala from Canada and Larsen Thompson from the USA to collaborate on a remake of the Spice Girls’ Wannabe video done 20 years ago. The video called #WhatiReallyReallyWant will be viewed by world leaders in September 2016 during the Global Goals week telling them what girls and women really really want in 2016.

Directed by MJ Delaney, #WhatiReallyReallyWant focuses on women empowerment as a means of achieving the Global Goals which are a mighty plan to end poverty, fix climate change and address inequalities over the next 15 years, this will only be possible if they address the needs of the most marginalised first, particularly girls and women. Project Everyone has convened the first Global Goals campaign for girls and women to fight for Goals which are famous, financed and focused on girls and women.

After dominating last year with headline breaking feats and releasing her critically acclaimed début Seyi or Shay, raving songstress Seyi Shay releases visuals to her latest single "Mary" featuring Phyno, her first video since the release of her album last year.

Seyi Shay teams up with Phyno to create history in her new video Mary directed by Meji Alabi for J Films.The video shot in Lagos is coupled with amazing props and captivating scenes with a brilliant use of lights and effects. 

The song has an Afro Trap tune originating from the south side in America aka 'The dirty south' it sees Seyi Shay serenade listeners with her amazing vocals, Mary was the very last song to be recorded for the album and it almost did not make the cut.

Clarence Peters, Seyi Shay Not An Item – Manager

It was recently reported among blogs that video director, Clarence Peters and Seyi Shay were in a hot romance, with even wedding bells set to ring any time soon. But the singer’s manager, Bayo Akande, has debunked the story. He said what the two celebrity figures had was nothing more than  a “working relationship.”

Akande described the story as ridiculous, saying that his artiste was not romantically involved with the director in any way, that the singer did not have time for ‘idle talk’ as she was working on her album.

 “When we heard the rumour, we did not find it funny. Seyi Shay was not pleased at all. They are not an item. Just because Clarence shot two of her videos does not mean that they are in a relationship. Even Clarence was not happy about the story because he called us,” Akande said.

Nigerian Stars Wow Fans At Felabration 2013

The crowd at the New Afrika Shrine can only be described as massive. The shrine was filled to the brim even as many struggled to get inside to catch the excitement live. Top rate musicians like Wizkid, Waje, Temi Dollface, Aiyetoro Band, Seyi Shay, Sean Tizzle, SolidStar, and Kayswtich were on hand to thrill the mammoth crowd.

Perhaps the most anticipated performance of the night, Wizzy practically shut the place down as he took the surging crowd through his numerous hits.

Starting from “No lele” off his debut album, he ran through other songs, performing with the full complement of a band as the audience sang along rapturously. At a point, he was joined by legendary Femi Kuti as they both performed “Jaiye Jaiye” to the immense delight of the crowd.

Seyi Shay Parts With Flytime, Signs New Management Deal

Seyi Shay has ended her business relationship with Cecil Hammond and his Flytime Promotions/Records outfit. The Pop singer we are told has signed a new deal with UK-Nigerian based management company J-Management. The company released a statement Sunday, October 6, 2013 announcing the deal along with two promo new singles.

‘Seyi Shay has officially signed a new partnership deal with international talent company J-Management following a pilot collaboration‘, the statement read.

Seyi Shay’s profile on her official website does not have any mention of Cecil Hammond or Flytime in her bio or contact page.

Hammond and Flytime introduced us to Seyi Shay in 2011 when the US returnee released her ‘Loving your way‘ single and follow up video. Cecil had earlier, also introduced us to another returnee Tiwa Savage who later left his outfit to sign with Don Jazzy‘s Mavin Records in last 2012.
