70-yr-Old HIV Positive Rapes Teenage Girl in Plateau State, Nigeria

THE people of Barakin Ladi local government area of Plateau State were shocked to the marrow last Friday when a 70-year-old man, Adamu Vou was alleged to have raped a 13-year-old girl.
Two weeks ago, a mobile policeman attached to the Special Task Force was caught raping an underage girl at his duty post in the same local government. The man had since been dismissed and charged to court by the Plateau State Police Command.
Sunday Tribune learnt that the 70-year-old man allegedly lured the young girl into his apartment and forcefully defiled her, but was caught in the act by the son of his landlord, Kelvin Abraham  who alerted other people in the house on the illicit act  going on.

40 Dead, 10 Injured as Gunmen Invade Plateau Villages


NO fewer than 40 people were killed yesterday, when gunmen attacked four villages in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. Among those killed, accor-ding to villagers, were a one-year old boy shot at close range, a four-year old and several women and other children. 10 persons have been hospitalised as a result of injuries sustained during the attack.

The attackers were said to have struck between 12.30a.m. and 1a.m., completely wiping out two families. The village head of Tatu, Da Pam Gyang Tsok, told newsmen that they started hearing sporadic gunshots at about 1a.m. and later discovered that the assailants had killed 15 women and children.

Fathers Arrested For Allegedly Killing Their Own Children


Plateau State police command has apprehended a 20-year-old man for killing his three-month-old daughter for ritual purposes. Another 25-year-old father was also arrested for killing his two-year -old son after the child urinated on his bed.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Olakpe, who paraded the two suspected along with 20 others, said  the 20-year old man, Polycarp Tajan, from Bokkos Local Government Area of the state  has confessed to the crime.According to him, Tajan was consulted by a herbalist who told him that if he could bring the tongue of his daughter,  he could make him rich.

17-Year-Old Girl, Narrates How Her Mother Sold Her 8-Month-Old Baby


Seventeen-year-old Blessing Godspower, narrated how her mother sold her (Godspower) eight-month-old baby. The police at the ‘A’ Division of the Plateau State Police Command paraded the mother, Onyinyechi Nwabueze, 38.
Policemen from the division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Victor Dimkpa, a Chief Superintendent of Police, had rescued the baby, Chiamaka, in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
PUNCH Metro exclusively reported the story. Blessing, who was staying with her mother at Rukuba Road area of Jos North, was allegedly put in the family way by her boyfriend. More after jump:

Man Catches Wife Committing Adultery with Neighbour


A middle aged housewife in Jos, the Plateau State capital is in trouble after she was caught in her matrimonial bed with another man by her husband. The woman simply identified as Gloria was caught with a neighbour,  a father of three who lives some houses away from the couple when the husband returned unexpectedly at their Rukuba Road residence.
The husband (names withheld) who sells clothes at the Old Bukuru Park was said to have barely left home for his business when his wife invited her man-friend, identified simply as George to come around as she was sick.
According to a neighbour who was with her when she made the call and begged to be anonymous, Gloria told the man friend to buy a pack of Don-Simon and a plate of pepper soup when coming.
The neighbour said: “She earlier complained of being ill. I heard her when we were sitting in front of the house telling the person on phone to bring a plate of pepper soup and a drink for her, although I never knew it was her man-friend.

Police Nab Fake Soldier, Recover N15m Worth of Cars


Plateau State Police Command has recovered various brands of cars worth over N15m. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Olakpe, on Tuesday said the command also arrested about 29 suspects for various crimes in different parts of the state. He said one of the suspects was a fake army officer.
Addressing journalists on the breakthrough his men had recorded over the last few months, the commissioner explained that Toyota and Honda brands were among cars recovered. Olakpe said, “Weapons, such as AK 47 rifles, AK magazines, locally-made pistols, grenade, live ammunition and cartridges were also recovered from the suspects. The cars recovered are worth N15m.”
The commissioner said the suspects were arrested with the assistance of some members of the public who gave the police some useful information. He reiterated the commitment of the police to rid the state of undesirable elements, while commending residents for the peaceful atmosphere that the state had enjoyed in the last few months.
