Guests Stab Schoolboy to Death at Birthday Party

A birthday party on Kehinde Street in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State turned bloody when some guests began a fight and stabbed a schoolboy, Endurance Augustine, to death.
Policemen from the Ajeromi division were said to have removed Endurance’s corpse and deposited it in a morgue.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Endurance had gone to the party with some of his friends, when a fight broke out.

A resident told our correspondent that the cause of the fight was unknown, adding that the hoodlums, who were guests at the party, fled after stabbing the victim to death.

Destiny Child Embarks on Nationwide Gospel Party (PRODUCT OF HOPE TOUR)


Destiny Child Gospel Music Talent Hunt is launching the first ever gospel music nationwide party titled “PRODUCT OF HOPE” scheduled to commence July 4th to 14th July 2013. Product Of Hope gospel music tour is expected to activate Christian moral consciousness and to reassure believers and non-believers that there is always a testimony when the gospel is applied as a living manual.

The Tour, which is billed to take place in Lagos, Ilorin, Akure, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Makurdi and Abuja, will feature the six finalists of Destiny Child Gospel Music Talent Hunt Season One. The fast rising gospel music stars have metamorphosed into a group known as the Supreme Six. The group consists of - Israel Funsho (winner) Femi Flame (1st runner up), Rasine Brown (2nd runner - up) and the three finalists: Shalom, King David and Frances. The Supreme Six will be performing their hit singles during the tour, which begins from 4th to 14th of July 2013.

Lagosians spend N1b Monthly On Merriment & Entertainment


According to a report, residents of Lagos State spend over a Naira on parties and entertainment every month. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Ademorin Kuye, said this at the briefing of the ministry in Alausa, Ikeja; While responding to a question on the validity of Merriment Tax being collected by local governments in the state, said the figure was a product of a recent research conducted by the state’s Ministry of Economic Planning and Budgeting.
 “There is merriment tax in the constitution; it’s part of the rate local governments can collect. We have not utilized the benefit of the entertainment industry in this state.
