Video: Darey - Special Fever

Superstar R&B singer/ songwriter Darey Art Alade has released the video for his newest international single “Special Fever”.

The beach themed video, which features Nollywood star actress Rita Dominic as the leading lady, was shot at a private beach in Lagos and was choreographed by Dance Queen Kaffy.

“Special Fever”, which was released last year, is a unique R&B/Highlife music, which describes the art of Love. The single, which was produced by internationally acclaimed producer, Harmony shows Darey pouring out his heart to a young woman who gives him a special kind of fever.

Rita Dominic’s The Meeting Breaks Record

Nearly two weeks after it was released on DVD, the multiple awards winning romantic comedy, The Meeting, produced by Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic and Mildred Okwo has recorded a big break in the market.

The movie, which was released on January 1, 2014, reportedly has sold over 50,000 copies within two weeks of its release. Making the actress’ company, The Audrey Silva order for fresh copies. While in the cinema, the film grossed over N25 million to beat the record set by Stephanie Okereke’s Through The Glass film’ when it grossed N10 million during its first three weeks in the box office five years ago.

NIGERIA ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY SHUTS DOWN NYC AT THE 8TH ANNUAL NEA AWARDS

The winners of the 8^th annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards were announced in New York at the NYU Skirball Center of the performing Arts.

The 860-seat theater was full to capacity as tickets were sold out hours to the show; New York was definitely ready to see what this year’s awards would serve up and the show did not disappoint. Guests and nominees began to arrive to walk the red carpet at about 6pm, and the show kicked off at about 8pm. In attendance were Olamide aka ‘Baddo’, Iyanya (Kukere Master), Sean Tizzle, Dammy Krane, Phyno, Emma Nyra, Ajebutter, Ayo Jay, Niyiola to mention a few. Representing for Nollywood were Rita Dominic, Ramsey Nouah, Ebbey Bassey, and Gbenro from Tinsel. Also in attendance were Akpororo, Elenu, and Ajebo representing for the comedians. Other industry members present were Matthew Ohio of Industry Nite, Ubi Franklin manager of MMMG label.

Rita Dominic: A Sensational Fashion Diva

Since her debut in Nollywood, Rita Dominic is one actress that has never been found wanting in her style.

Repeatedly, many regard her as the best dressed actress in nollywood. Others who do not share the opinion say she is one of the best stylish actresses in Nollywood. Not because she has a breathtaking pretty face but for the choice of her wardrobe and how clothes fit her like they were strictly made for her.

Rita Dominic is one of the few actresses that turn heads at red carpet with her outfit. Some of her fans say she has a special touch with outfit and they fit her perfectly. Others admire her choice of very mature dressing.

These days, Dominic seems to look trimmer. One could hardly tell she is the one at first glance. It is either she worked hard on her chubby figure or she adopted a new makeover that gives her a trimmer look. We also noticed that her lipsticks presently are usually semi-nude colours that make her voluminous lips look thinner. It will not be surprising if she picks a career in styling personalities.

Nollywood Actress Push Against Domestic Violence

Domestic violence against women, especially in Africa, has remained a thorny issue. Across the globe, governments, voluntary organisations and philanthropists have been collaborating actively through a variety of programmes to combat it.

As part of their own contribution and as a means of checking the trend, four Nigerian actresses teamed up to create more awareness about the situation in a short film entitled, New Horizon. The actresses, Kate Henshaw, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo and Funke Akindele said they felt an urgent need to challenge the social prejudices and beam the spotlight on the subject. At a press conference to announce the wrap up of the movie at the Tinapa Lakeside Hotel in Calabar, Cross River State,
