Goldie is said to have died at the Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island. Goldie just returned from the US and was so full of life, then something went tragically wrong and Now we hear she's Dead.

Nigerian Journalists Granted bail by Chief Magistrate Court

Two journalists and a former Director-General of the Kano state Censorship Board, who were arrested by Kano state police command for allegedly inciting the killing of nine health workers in the state have been granted bail by Chief Magistrate Court 17.

The presiding Judge, Justice Ibrahim Bello in his ruling stated that having observed several provision of the constitution which give automatic bail to an offence that does not exceed three year jail term he granted the defendants a bail with payment of N100, 000 each and two sureties.

The sureties are to include a community leader and a head of department with the organisation where they work.

Breaking News: Oscar Pistorius 'shoots girlfriend'

South African Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius has been arrested over the fatal shooting of his girlfriend at his home in Pretoria, local media say.

Police confirmed to local media that a woman - who died at the scene - was shot in the head and arm.

The precise circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear. Reports say he may have mistaken her for a burglar.

The 26-year-old - known as the "blade runner" - was the first double amputee to run in the Olympics.

"We found a 9mm pistol at the scene. A 26-year-old man was taken into custody," police spokeswoman Katlego Mogale told Reuters news agency.

Nearly 5,000 people in Thailand are celebrating after setting a new world record for the most people dancing with hula hoops simultaneously in one place.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Seyda Subasi-Gemici said that 4,483 people swung hula hoops to dance music for seven minutes without interruption.

The event drew 5,000 potential hula-hoopers to an open air stadium at Thammasat University, but 517 contestants dropped out after they failed to keep their hoops up.

A 27-year-old woman, Mary Sunday, has been in the hospital bed at Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital seven months after she was allegedly attacked by her fiancé, Corporal Isaac Gbanwuan, with a pot of boiling stew and a lighted stove.

It was learnt that Sunday had lost her ears due to the attack.

Before the attack, which took place in August 2012, Sunday was to report for training at the Police Academy, Kano as a cadet officer.

Still nursing severe burns to her neck, chest and upper arms, Sunday can barely sit or walk straight. She holds her head stiffly and talks with difficulty as she recalled the events that led to her present state to PUNCH Metro.

World's 'Ugliest Woman' Julia Pastrana buried 153 years After her Death.

An indigenous woman exhibited in 19th-Century Europe as the "world's ugliest woman" has been buried in her native Mexico some 150 years after her death.

Julia Pastrana, who suffered from a genetic condition that covered her face in hair, performed in circuses as a freak of nature.

After she died in 1860, her American husband toured with her embalmed body, which ended up in Norway.

Her remains were returned this week for a proper burial, after a long campaign.

Dickson signs Death Sentence Bill for kidnappers in Bayelsa

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayels State, as assented to the bill passed by the state House of Assembly, prescribing death sentence for the offence of kidnapping in the state.

Tagged Bayelsa State Kidnapping and Allied Offences Bill 2013, it empowers the governor to accent to the death warrant of any person or group of persons convicted for the act of kidnapping and other related offences in the state.

Dickson, in Yenagoa, during the signing of the Bill into law, warned those involved in acts of kidnapping to stay clear of the state because he would not hesitate to sign their death warrant.
