Couple Together for 46 years Finally Able To Have A Church Wedding After Reformed Laws

A Mexican couple together for 46 have finally been able to have a religious wedding after the Pope reformed laws that made it hard for divorcees to remarry.

Pablo Ibarra, 75, and 65-year-old Francisca Santiago wed at a church in the little village of Santa Ana in the southern state of Oaxaca.

The couple were joined together in a civil ceremony in 1970, but because the process for annulling Mr Ibarra's first marriage was so complicated they thought it would not be possible to confirm their union in church.

But after Pope Francis brought in the simplified rules on December 8, 2015, Mr Ibarra was able to convince a bishop to have his first marriage annulled.

Pope Francis rarely loses his cool. However, that wasn't the case when he showed a rare sign of anger and proved he is only human during his recent trip to Mexico, after an eager crowd tugged his arms and caused him to topple over.

Francis was at a stadium in the western city of Morella on Tuesday greeting fans when one person pulled at his robe and caused him to crash down into a wheelchair-bound man.

"Exceptionally rare" conjoined whale twins have been found dead in a lagoon in Mexico. Scientists describe the discovery of the grey whale calves in a Mexico lagoon as "without any precedent" in the region.

Fishermen found the grey whale calves in the Ojo de Liebre lagoon in the Baja California peninsula, which opens up to the Pacific Ocean.

The four-metre (13 feet) long creatures, which weighed nearly half a tonne, were linked at the mid-section.

World's 'Ugliest Woman' Julia Pastrana buried 153 years After her Death.

An indigenous woman exhibited in 19th-Century Europe as the "world's ugliest woman" has been buried in her native Mexico some 150 years after her death.

Julia Pastrana, who suffered from a genetic condition that covered her face in hair, performed in circuses as a freak of nature.

After she died in 1860, her American husband toured with her embalmed body, which ended up in Norway.

Her remains were returned this week for a proper burial, after a long campaign.
