Every
year, Battle of the Year features the best and most innovative Break dance
crews from all over the world creating an environment for; friendship,
International exchange of culture and knowledge. It is a platform for B-boys
and Hip-hop culture in general and an opportunity for all participants to
express themselves in a peaceful and non-racist environment.
The
2013 edition which is the fifth edition is schedule for September 8th
at the Indoor Sports Hall, University of Lagos. It will showcase the best break
dance crews across the country competing for the spot to represent Nigeria and
Africa at the 2013 International Battle of the Year Break-dance Championship
World finals in Braunschweig, Germany on the 19th
of October 2013.
Bboy crews confirmed for show are; Dance Reloaded
(Lagos), Floor works (Port-Harcourt), Furious Fundamentals (Warri), Street
Wizards (Lagos), C.I.A (Lagos), 3Ple DK (Jos), All Stars (Lagos), Code Red
(Benin), Machinery (Lagos), Space Unlimited (Lagos), Body Control (Lagos),
X-Force (Lagos), and many more
Nigerian rapper and ex
Bboy Bright Erighono a.k.a B-Elect, Curtis Baiyee Betek a.k.a Bboy Rock Fury
from Cameroon and a Bboy Champion from France shall form the panel of judges.
Deejay OZ and Deejay Funky Jay will provide break
beats for the Bboys.
Special guest appearance: Cool Deejay Jimmy Jatt,
Mr Raw, Mode 9, Illbliss, Deejay Sose, Phyno, B-Elect, Deejay Snoop Damaja,
Splash, Suspect, Mtrill and many more. Andre Blaze will host the show.
Battle
