The world’s fattest child has been put on a crash diet to save his life.

Arya Permana weighs 30 stone and, unsurprisingly, is classified as being morbidly obese.

He can’t walk any more and had to quit school as a result of his weight, achieved through a five-meals-a-day eating regime.

His parents have been unable to find clothes that fit and he now wears a sarong all the time, finally getting them to come to the conclusion that he needs to stop eating.

His mother Rokayah Somantri said: ‘He is perpetually hungry and has an enormous diet and can actually eat meals of two adults at one time.

Former Soldier Abandons Everest Climb 500m From Finish to Save Fellow Climber Life

A former soldier who was only 500m away from finishing his ascent abandoned his Everest climb to save a fellow climber.

Leslie Binns, 42, from Rotherham, was only 12 hours away from making his final ascent when he spotted a woman sliding down the mountain towards him.

After seeing 32-year-old Sunita Hazra in distress, Leslie told his Sherpa to abandon their climb and help her back to camp.

He gave her his oxygen bottle and escorted her all the way back to his camp where Sunita was then taken to hospital on May 21.

He told the BBC: ‘All we could her were the screams of terror as the person gained momentum. I braced myself to try and stop whoever it was, and managed to do so.’

Boy ‘Brought Back To Life’ 30 Minutes After He Nearly Drowned

A TODDLER who nearly drowned in an algae-filled pond was saved by villagers who pulled him from the water and gave him CPR for 30 minutes.

The youngster was rescued by other children who grabbed a long bamboo stick and dragged him back to dry land.

One of the kids was seen face down in the water while the other screamed in the upsetting mobile phone footage.

In the footage, filmed at an unknown Chinese village, a boy known as Li jumped into the pond and carried the unconscious boy back to shore.

Baby Born After Mother Killed By Snow Plough Fights For Life

A baby delivered by Caesarean section after his mother was killed by a snow plough in New York is fighting for his life. The woman, Min Lin, was struck as she and her husband were putting grocery bags into the boot of their car in Brooklyn.

She was taken to Maimonides Medical Centre, where she was pronounced dead. Her husband was unhurt. The baby, who was almost full term, was delivered by doctors and he is in a critical condition in the neonatal intensive care unit.

He weighed 6lb, 6oz, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Police said the private vehicle with a snow plough attached to it was reversing in the parking area of a supermarket when it hit the woman.
