"I Will Also Be Producing Koko Bread Soon" - D'banj

Popular Nigerian singer, D’banj, has joined in the campaign for improvement in the agricultural sector, saying it would boost youth empowerment and alleviate poverty in the country.

He spoke in Abuja during a campaign entitled: “Do Africa, It Pays” which was in line with the African Union Declaration of 2014 as the year of agriculture and food security. Leaders are expected to review their agricultural investment commitments at the next AU Summit scheduled for June.

The campaign called “ONE Africa” is aimed at changing public perception about agriculture so that the entire value chain would be recognised as an attractive and viable opportunity for agro-business, job creation for Africa’s young people and improved livelihood for small farmers.

From Kokomaster to Kokofarmer

Nigerian music star D’banj was announced as the brand ambassador for ONE Campaign earlier in the week. He is expected to spearhead a new initiative aimed at fighting extreme poverty in Africa.
According to the initiators of the project, the centrepiece of the campaign is a call to boost investments in agriculture, a sector that is capable of liberating the continent’s vast economic potential.

The Kokomaster is currently in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to help ONE officially inaugurate the campaign during the African Union Summit.  He has unveiled the official name and logo of the campaign and helped launch ONE’s online petition, calling on leaders to invest more and better in agriculture. In February, the pop-star will lead top artistes from around the continent to record a song and music video, aimed at promoting agriculture among youths.
