Video: Man Arrested For ‘Body-Slamming Female Teacher’ During Friendly Basketball Game

A man has been arrested for aggravated battery after he body-slammed a female teacher during a friendly basketball game, police said.
Surveillance camera footage from the Florida primary school’s gymnasium shows Travis Mims, 27, shadowing 33-year-old Katherine Martin during a game of two-on-two basketball.

And in the words of a charging affidavit, Mims, who is 6ft2in tall and weighs 118kg, ‘picked up Ms Martin’s body, turned her upside down, and maliciously threw her body onto the floor.’
According to Ms Martin, who suffered ‘substantial, serious and permanent’ injuries, according to police, Mims had become increasingly aggressive as the game went on and ‘there was an exchange of words’ between the pair.

Mims, a school advisor at Holly Hill School, told police during questioning that Ms Martin ‘pushed his face with her hands’ and said that though he ‘slammed’ her to the ground, he was not angry when he did so.
