Recluse Has Huge Facial Tumour Weighing 1 1/2 STONE Removed After 20 Years

Stefan Zoleik was disfigured in his early 20s when he noticed he was developing a large jaw.
The growths were caused by a rare condition called Madelung disease.
Other victims of the same kind of deformity include the woman whose bubble-like skin growths scared children.
If you can stomach some graphic content, you can see the stories of the woman who had a tumour the size of a child removed and a child who had a football-sized tumour cut from her mouth.
One of Zoleik's tumours grew from ear to ear under his chin causing people to stop and stare at him in the street.
The 47-year-old had to give up his job as a mechanic due to the discomfort and had to become a virtual recluse dependent on friends and family.

Last year surgeons agreed to operate on Zoleik to remove the main tumour.
It was removed in a surgery lasting five hours at hospital in the town of Martin in northern Slovakia.
He is now leaving the village of Stiavnik to go back into hospital to have the rest of the cancerous fat cells removed.
He said: "Since that surgery my life has changed incredibly. I don't know why it wasn't possible for it to be done earlier but I'm just grateful that it has been done now."

Igor Homola, a plastic surgeon at the University Hospital in Martin, said: "Although it has changed his life the medical procedures are not over and we now have to do corrective surgery.
"Even after surgery there will be cells that have kept on growing and we now need to operate to remove those as well in order to fix it."
Despite his unusual appearance, Koleik had married and has a son and a daughter who said they had got used to his appearance.
His family were happy for him that he had managed to gain a face that he was happy to show the public.
He said: "Over everything else it was my family who helped me the most.
"They supported me both before and after the surgery, and are my rock that also gave me the strength to recover."
