A man who bought a watch for £3.80 from a thrift shop later sold it for a whopping £22,650.
Zach Norris, from Phoenix, Arizona, was looking for a trolley for his golf bag at the Goodwill store when he recognised a $5.99 (£3.80) watch as a rare 1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre.
And Mr Norris said he was later able to sell the timepiece for $35,000 (£22,656) on Hodinkee.com – and the buyer even threw in a Mega Speed Master watch, valued at a cool $4,000 (£2,589).
‘We are planning a wedding,’ Mr Norris told KGUN 9.
‘We’ve been planning a wedding for a while, but now that we have the extra funds we’re going to go ahead and start taking care of everything.
‘We’re excited.’
According to Mr Norris, only around 900 of the watches were made.
