Nigerian Army Arrests Husband of Rescued Chibok Schoolgirl

A suspected Boko Haram terrorist who claimed to be the husband of the rescued Chibok schoolgirl has been arrested by the Nigerian Army.

In a statement issued by Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,
Acting Director, Army Public Relations, the suspected Boko Haram terrorist identified as Mohammed Hayatu, has been taken to the headquarters of the 25 Task Foce Brigade, Damboa along with the rescued Chibok schoolgirl, now identified as Amina Ali.

The statement read:

”Please recall that we informed you that one of the abducted Chibok
schoolgirls has been rescued earlier today and promised to give
further details.

”Further to that, in continuation of Operation CRACKDOWN, troops of 25
Brigade Damboa in conjunction with Civilian JTF deployed in one of the
blocking positions at Baale, near Damboa rescued one Miss Amina Ali
and a suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Mohammed Hayatu, who claimed to
be her husband.

Men Beat Army Veteran For Liking Black People

Police in Michigan arrested three men who are accused of viciously beating an Army veteran who objected to their racist remarks.

According to the Westland Police Department, United States Army veteran Adam Wagner went to a 7-11 convenience store at 2 a.m. Saturday morning to purchase a pack of cigarettes. Once inside, he noticed three men harassing the female clerk, and he told them to stop.

When he walked outside, the trio followed him. At this point, Wagner told police, they noticed the Army insignia on Wagner’s car and began to taunt him about the military.

“They were saying, ‘How can you be in the military when they let black people in the military?’ They used the ‘n word’, saying [he] was an ‘n-word’ lover,” Wagner’s girlfriend told WJBK.

Apo killings: NHRC indicts Army, DSS

The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, yesterday, said its investigations revealed that eight persons that were killed by a joint team of the Nigerian Army and operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, at an uncompleted building situated at the Apo District of the Federal Capital Territory on September 20, 2013, were not members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect as was alleged by security agencies.

In a report it released yesterday, the commission, which had earlier conducted a public hearing on the matter, said there was no shred of evidence to show that the deceased victims belonged to the dreaded Jama’atu ahlus sunnah lid da’awati wal jihad, also known as Boko Haram.

Suspects Battle SSS, Army in Failed Jail Break

Abuja residents were rattled on Sunday by sporadic gunshots which lasted for over one hour thus prompting fears that the federal capital city may have come under the attack of the dreaded Boko Haram sect. But the Department of State Security Service (DSS), was quick to confirm that an attempt by one of the suspects detained at its headquarters in Asokoro district of Abuja to escape led to the gun duel. The jail break was however successfully foiled. Our Abuja correspondent said residents of Asokoro and environ told of how they were rattled by repeated gunshots.

In a statement by its Deputy Director (Public Relations) Ms Marilyn Ogar, the DSS said, “at 07:15 hours, the Service suspect handler went to the detention facility within the Headquarters to feed the suspects.”

According to the statement, one of the suspects attempted to disarm the Service suspect handler “by hitting him at the back of his head with his handcuff.” It said the attempt by the unnamed suspect to escape drew the attention of other guards at the facility who fired some shots to warn and deter others.

Nigerian Army Captures Boko Haram Armoury, Kills 10

The Defence Headquarters on Saturday said Special Forces captured a massive armoury with arms and ammunition in one of the camps of Boko Haram insurgents near Lake Chad.

This was contained in an electronic mail sent to journalists on Saturday by the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen Chris Olukolade.

Olukolade said the Special Forces captured the large cache of arms and ammunition from a dump in one of the camps of the insurgents on Friday night.

He said the arms and ammunition were still being evacuated from the site where several of the insurgents were said to have died during the raid.

Nigerian Soldiers Attack Boko Haram Camp, Seize 700 vehicles

The Special Forces involved in the ongoing campaign against the Boko Haram insurgents have recorded what security sources have described as one the greatest breakthroughs in the  campaign against terrorists  in the North-East.

Investigations on Tuesday revealed that the Special Forces, comprising ground troops and the Air Force fighters, had demobilized one of the strongest fortresses of the Boko Haram sect.

It was learnt that the soldiers, who carried out the operation, were shocked by the volume of arms and ammunition and hundreds of operational vehicles that they captured at the camp.

A source put the number of vehicles captured from the insurgents at 700 while several members of the sect were arrested.
