Police Unveil 3 Men Wanted Over Ejigbo Tortured Women

The Nigeria Police Force has unveiled the faces of the three suspects declared wanted in connection with the torture of three women inside the Ejigbo market, an action that has triggered national condemnation.

The three men are Ranti Lukeman Akande, Akeem Shitu and Tiri.

According to a statement by Frank Mba, the police spokesman, Ranti Lukeman Akande a.k.a Otempa uses the appellations: Comrade or Alhaji or Chief Ranti Lukeman Akande.

“He is between 45 to 50 yrs old and hails from Ayetoro in Yewa North LGA of Ogun State. He is dark in complexion, tall with a big frame and has no tribal marks. The suspect has white set of teeth with an artificial gold tooth. He had been known as a panel beater before eventually parading himself as the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) coordinator. He speaks Yoruba and English Languages. He is married and has children and he likes attending parties.

Policeman Who Demanded Dollar Bribe Faces Dismissal

The policeman, who was caught on video demanding dollars as bribe from a Nigerian-American and two other Nigerians for alleged traffic offences in Lagos, has been arrested and is now facing an orderly room trial. The man, identified as Corporal Aniyem Chiyem, whose video was posted on YouTube was secretly filmed by one of the passengers in a three-minute, 45-second footage.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba, on Monday in Abuja said that the hitherto unknown Chiyem with Force No. 374171, was attached to Isheri Division, Lagos State Police Command.
 
“His arrest was sequel to a matching order issued by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Umar  Manko, to ensure prompt arrest and investigation of the matter.
 
“Following his arrest, the suspect who is now in police custody, is undergoing orderly room trials and if found guilty, will face appropriate disciplinary actions,” the statement said.
In the footage, a passenger was heard explaining to the policeman that one of them was actually celebrating his birthday and that they were hurrying up to catch up with a friend.
The incident, according to the description given on YouTube, was said to have happened in the Egbeda area of Lagos.

Police Arrest Man In Mushin Area Of Lagos For 10 Murders


The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 32-year-old man, Adigun Muda, in connection with some  murders in the Mushin and Fadeyi areas of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect was arrested at South Africa Visa Application centre on Billingsway, Ikeja.
According to police authorities, the suspect, who is also an alleged leader of Black Axe cult, has been linked to the killings of over 10 youths between 2010 and 2013.
The police added that the suspect had, in the past, been declared wanted by the police, charged for murder and was remanded at Ikoyi Prison for over a year. According to police sources, after being charged with murder at a magistrate’s court, the suspect, with the help of some influential members of his community, was able to obtain a motion for bail application and was released under controversial circumstances.

Baby Factory: Enugu police Arrest Hair Dresser & Lover


Enugu State Police Command has arrested a hair dresser, her lover and two other persons over their alleged involvement in a baby factory business.
The hair dresser, who gave her name as Ifeoma Obike, a native of Oguta in Imo State, was accused of using her hair salon on Chime Avenue, Enugu, as a cover up for baby factory business.
Our correspondent learnt on Sunday that when the police stormed her residence on Saturday on Mbanefo Street in New Haven, where she is residing with her live-in-lover, they found a pregnant lady.
The victim, whose identity was given as Ujunwa Egbe, from Ituku in Awgu Local Government Area of the state, was reported to have been taken into custody by the lovers, with a promise that she would be paid N100, 000 upon delivery of the baby.

Police Parade Gay Pastor For Allegedly Raping Church Member


After the act, the pastor allegedly threatened to kill his victim if he disclosed the act to the public. Speaking to Vanguard, Pastor Ogbebor simply said: “God will judge, go and talk to others” and kept on mumbling.

As the Edo State Police Command, paraded 26 suspected criminals including a pastor identified as Philips Ogbebor, alleged to have had carnal knowledge of a 20-year-old male member of his church (names withheld).
But his victim narrated his ordeal: “I told him I have never done this since I grew up, but he insisted. It was painful and I told him I will not allow it again. So after the second attempt, I told him I will expose the act. He then administered an oath on me, saying if I ever told any one, I will die. “He carried sand and olive oil and poured them on my head, then he wore black garment, saying I will die if I ever leaked the secret. He killed a black fowl and gave me the liver and gizzard to eat at about 2 a.m., threatening that if I ever said it out, I will die like the fowl.

16 Women Freed In Another ‘Baby Factory’ Raid


Nigerian police have raided a home in the commercial town of Aba in the eastern Nigerian state of Abia and freed 16 pregnant young women who were allegedly being forced to have babies to be offered for sale for trafficking or other purposes, police said.

They said they arrested the man suspected of running the home, adding he was arrested on similar accusations two years ago but it was unclear what happened to the previous case or why he had been freed.
“The operation was carried out by the DSS where 16 expectant mothers, aged between 17 and 37, were found,” Abia state police spokesman Geofrey Ogbonna told AFP.

The DSS is the Department of State Services, a domestic intelligence and police force. He said the raid on Cross Foundation in the southern city of Aba was carried out on Tuesday and the proprietor, Hyacinth Ndudim Orikara, had been arrested.
