Devoted Husband and NBA Player Jrue Holiday Leaves Professional Basketball To Take Care Of His Sick Wife

New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday was hit with awful news about his wife, retired soccer star Lauren Holiday. The young couple, whom are six months pregnant, were shocked when doctors found a benign tumor in Lauren’s brain.

The baby is not due for another few weeks but word is they’re planning to induce labor early so the doctors can operate on her brain without affecting the baby. Jrue said that the Pelicans organization has given him a lot of support during this rough time.

PEOPLENBA star Jrue Holiday will not be there to start the New Orleans Pelicans’ 2016-2017 season. Instead, he will be by his wife Lauren Holiday’s side.
The Holidays were left devastated when they received news that doctors had discovered a benign tumor on the right side of Lauren’s brain, according to NOLA.com.

Carmelo Anthony did exactly what he promised he would, and got 3 other NBA superstars to help him open the ESPYs with a powerful speech addressing the recent shooting tragedies in America.

NBA legend Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto: Married!

NBA legend Michael Jordan married Yvette Prieto in Palm Beach, Fla., on Saturday, saying "I do" with his Cuban model girlfriend after five years of dating. The pair made it official in front of a whopping 500 guests, who arrived on tour buses, at Episcopal church Bethesda-by-the Sea, near MJ's residence.
The 50-year-old basketball star then had 1,500 (!) friends to join in the celebrations with himself and Yvette Prieto at the Bears Club, in Jupiter, Fla.
Michael Jordan, who first met the 35-year-old beauty at a nightclub in Miami back in early 2008, popped the question in 2011 over the holidays.
"They've been planning for months and months," says a source of the couple's nuptials. "He wanted to give Yvette everything she's ever wanted."
It's the second marriage for the former Chicago Bulls star turned Charlotte Bobcats owner, who has three grown children with Juanita Vanoy.

Dennis Rodman in North Korea: His On a Mission.

NBA Hall of Fame member Dennis Rodman is in North Korea.
Rodman, along with three current members of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team, are apparently filming a TV show for a US media company.
The company said they hope engage in some "basketball diplomacy."
North Korea leader Kim Jong-un, who just oversaw the country's recent nuclear test, is known to be a big basketball fan. So ... can't hurt, we suppose?
