Emma Nyra has kept mum over the cause of her fallout with ex record label boss, Ubi Franklin, however, she has shut down reports they were in a relationship, saying he made it all up. Read the interview with Punch below:

What are some of the lessons you have learnt since you parted ways with your former label?

I learnt to focus and not really trust what I hear. I have learnt to take everything I am being told by sight and keep my faith in God because He is the only one who actually has my back. Even if I hear something, I don’t react just like that and I also stay away from drama. If I sense that a situation might likely lead to a confrontation, I simply avoid it.

It is believed that when an artiste is in a relationship with his or her label boss or label mate it spells doom for his or her career. Do you agree?

The Nigerian musician has some strong words for the women folk, expressing her sadness that unlike men, women try to bring each other down..... She wrote

Ladies this message is for you. I think it's sad that every single day, I receive negative and constructive criticism from women who have never constructed anything. Every single thing I do is criticized because I'm In the public eye, fair enough that's what I signed up for in order to be a female artist. You may also want to understand why I am successful and why I will always be successful. It is because of women! 

The women who have dedicated their time and talent to work with me, Collab with me, and advise me. The women that look after their fellow woman by building her up, instead of tearing her down. This is why men are successful because they help each other grow. 

Emma Nyra Dispels Rumors That She Has Left MMMG Records!

There had been rumors over the past couple of days that Emma Nyra has left her label, MMMG (owneby by Iyanya and Ubi Franklin) after a disagreement with the pair. The report had stated that she had left the label a few weeks ago and is now being sponsored by a family member.

Emma Nyra has come out to kind of dispel the rumors and has stated she stands with MMMG – whatever that means. It’s almost like she denies it but doesn’t. Mixed messages? Who knows? Whatever the case it, we hope her move is for the best.

NIGERIA ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY SHUTS DOWN NYC AT THE 8TH ANNUAL NEA AWARDS

The winners of the 8^th annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards were announced in New York at the NYU Skirball Center of the performing Arts.

The 860-seat theater was full to capacity as tickets were sold out hours to the show; New York was definitely ready to see what this year’s awards would serve up and the show did not disappoint. Guests and nominees began to arrive to walk the red carpet at about 6pm, and the show kicked off at about 8pm. In attendance were Olamide aka ‘Baddo’, Iyanya (Kukere Master), Sean Tizzle, Dammy Krane, Phyno, Emma Nyra, Ajebutter, Ayo Jay, Niyiola to mention a few. Representing for Nollywood were Rita Dominic, Ramsey Nouah, Ebbey Bassey, and Gbenro from Tinsel. Also in attendance were Akpororo, Elenu, and Ajebo representing for the comedians. Other industry members present were Matthew Ohio of Industry Nite, Ubi Franklin manager of MMMG label.
