| ARRESTED: Christina Busby is married, court documents said |
A FORMER Christian school teacher has been accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student after his mum alerted authorities.
Christina Busby, 33, was arrested and also lost her job after the boy's mum discovered inappropriate texts on his phone, police said.
Busby, who taught fourth grade at Faith Academy, is married.
The boy was not a student of Busby's at the time.
She is alleged to have had made sexual contact with the teen from Wilmer on at least two occasions.
Police from the Mobile County Sheriff's Office believe both times occurred in March.
At least one of the incidents is believed to have taken place at the teacher's home.
Investigators are looking into the possibilty that she may have had relationships with other students.
Faith Academy's headmaster Tim Skelton wrote on Facebook: "On Monday, August 17, 2015 it was brought to attention of Faith Academy's administrators that teacher Christina Merservey Busby had allegedly been inappropriately involved with a student in violation of school policy and Alabama law."
Mr Skelton confirmed that none of allegations involved any of Busby's current or former students.
He added: "We are truly grieved by this situation.
"We want to assure you that we are doing everything within our power to ensure that Faith Academy and all of our staff are representing Jesus Christ and giving glory to His Kingdom."
