THE lawmaker representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Senator Ben Murray Bruce, has stated that Nigerians elected a man and not a magician, urging for patience with the former military ruler.
The #Commonsense advocate also berated those he accused of politicizing the recent terror attacks in the country. Ben Bruce, elected on the platform of PDP and representing the Senatorial District of former president Goodluck Jonathan, stressed that his idea of opposition is not to attack Buhari or the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC but to proffer alternative solutions and ideas for the betterment of Nigeria.
Below are some of his tweets after the cut....:
“Shame on anyone wanting to politicize recent terror attacks. @MBuhari needs our support to defeat terror & we have a duty to give it to him”.
“My idea of opposition isn’t to attack Buhari/APC. Opposition to me is proffering alternative solutions/ideas for the betterment of Nigeria”.
“Again, I repeat that nations grow over time not overnight. Give President @MBuhari time. Nigerians elected a man not a magician”.

The more you attack your predecessor the higher the bar is set for you. Know how slippery a road is before knocking those who slipped on it.

Nigeria is broke because we spend on consumption rather than on productive activities, on salaries instead of projects. We must flip that.

I urge leaders to remember that true elders plant trees of peace even when they know they may never benefit from the shades of those trees.

Except we build unity and interconnectedness amongst our youths, they will lag behind the world in technology, innovation and idea sharing.

Imagine that running a government is like driving a car. You make maximum progress if you use your windshield more than your rear mirror.

Fact of life-Your predecessor faced his predecessor's issues. You're facing your predecessor's issues. Your successor will face your issues.

It is worthy of note that for the first time in our history, the Presidential election is not being challenged before any tribunal!

The biggest illusion in politics is that occupying an elected or appointed office automatically makes you a leader. It doesn't #commonsense

How Nigeria is treating us today is a reflection of how we have treated Nigeria yesterday. An over milked cow will collapse if not well fed.

Even if temporarily limited in what you can do, at least be visible as a leader. Communicate with people in crisis times. Be seen. Be heard!

Nigeria needs politicians for whom politics is a vocation not an occupation, who make money from their businesses not the public treasury.

Wise leaders respond to ideas not insults. The man carrying an elephant on his head will fall if he tries to squash ants with his toe.
