Man Beats His Former Friend's Daughter To Death With Hammer - Over An Insult Made 20 Year Ago

A Chinese man waited 20 years to get revenge on a fellow villager who had hurt his honour - by beating the man's nine-year-old daughter to death with a hammer.

Yi Hsia, 40, had apparently never forgotten an insult made by his neighbour and after drinking and playing cards with friends, had grabbed the metal hammer and waited outside the man's house in Jingxi township in Minhou county in south-eastern China's Fujian province.

When he spotted Yul Xu's daughter Xiao walking home with friends, he had walked up to her and hit her over the head.

Eyewitness Meng Liao said: 'It was sickening, he was hitting the lifeless body repeatedly on the head with a hammer.

'Loads of other people ran over including me and he ran off but by then it was too late for the girl. 

Husband Banned From Having Sex With Wife By High Court Judge

The man, from Bangladesh, claimed that in his culture he should be able to have sex with his wife whenever he pleases.

However, a judge ruled that the two should be separated as it is not her duty to "submit" to him.

His wife, identified only as TB, suffers with mental health issues, the court heard.

The 39-year-old is said to have the mental age of a child and therefore lacks the understanding to refuse sex with her husband of 18 years.

She was taken into care under the Mental Health Act by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, where the family lived.

Mother Murders Undergraduate Daughter in Ekiti

A middle-aged woman in Ekiti, Mrs. Victoria Aina Adanikin, has allegedly murdered her own daughter, Miss. Oluwafunmilayo Rosaline Abosede Adanikin, a 300 level student of the Federal College of Educa­tion, Ikere-Ekiti.

Adanikin, who until the alleged murder of her daughter lived in Adanikin compound, beside Baba Ewenla house in Idamodu area of Emure-Ekiti, Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti State, was said to have put an end to the life of her 22-year-old daughter on the night of December 7 at their apartment.

Residents and neighbours in the area said trouble started a few days earlier when Abosede began to confess to committing some evil deeds through diabolical means. She was said to have allegedly confessed to causing havoc in her family by killing relatives and spoiling the fortunes of others with some fetish powers she got from her mum.

Mother Throws Baby With Unusual 'Big Head' Into Refuse Dump

A seven-month-old baby has been found abandoned in a heap of rubbish near Lanre bus stop in the Igando area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the baby whose head was said to be unusually big was dumped in the refuse owing to an unknown ailment.

It was learnt that a resident, who passed by the area, raised the alarm when he heard the cry of the baby.

Our correspondent gathered that the discovery was reported to the police, at the Igando Police Station, who came to evacuate the baby.

A resident, who identified himself as Segun Adesoye, told PUNCH Metro that he saw the child while he was being removed from the rubbish.

Boko Haram Kills 32, Kidnaps More Women And Girls In Borno

Boko Haram militants killed 32 people and kidnapped scores of others in an attack on the village of Gumsuri in the restive northeast, two local officials and a witness said Thursday.

The officials, who requested anonymity, said locals were still counting those abducted in the attack Sunday in the remote area but that the figure could pass 100 and included women and children.

“After killing our youths, the insurgents have taken away our wives and daughters,” said Mukhtar Buba, who fled Gumsuri to the Borno state capital Maiduguri.

Details took four days to emerge because the mobile phone network has largely collapsed in the area roughly 70 kilometres (43 miles) south of Maiduguri, and many of the roads are impassable.
