During Wednesday night's Capital One Cup clash between Liverpool and Bournemouth it seems Cherries defender Baily Cargill's wig fell off.
The defender was advancing into the Liverpool half when something appeared to drop off his head.
The clip quickly went viral with people on social media convinced Cargill, an England youth international, had suffered an embarrassing hair malfunction.
But anyone who was paying attention to the game – which Liverpool won 3-1 – will know that the "wig" was in fact a black head bandage.
It appears the 19-year-old recently had several stitches on his head.
"Feel for Baily Cargill," wrote one fan on Twitter. "Thousands of posts about his 'wig' falling off with it was actually protective gear."
The Reds will now face Chelsea for a place in the Capital One Cup final.
