‘Stillborn’ Baby Survives After Being Buried Alive For Two Hours

A baby has survived being buried alive for two hours after her parents mistakenly believed that she was stillborn.
The unnamed child was born on a farm in China’s Liaoning Province to Lu Xiaoyun, who believed she was only four months’ pregnant when she went into labour.
After experiencing sharp stomach pains, Ms Lu, who was in fact six months’ pregnant, gave birth to a girl she thought was stillborn.
She called her husband, He Yong, who returned from work to discover his wife in a pool of blood.
Ms Lu was taken to hospital where her husband told ambulance crews that it would be pointless to check on the baby.
However, when doctors told Mr Ye that the baby might still be alive, he rushed home to discover that the child had been buried by Ms Lu’s mother.
After digging up the infant, who was found to be breathing, she was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Three days later the family was forced to discharge their daughter as they could not afford further treatment.
Mr He said: ‘My mother-in-law has chronic diseases and I also have a seven-year-old daughter. My wife doesn’t have a job. I am the only one who works’.

The child’s miraculous recovery has since been reported by Chinese media, and subsequent donations have allowed her to return to hospital, where she is currently being kept in an incubator.
