The overzealous, animal rights
group, PETA has found their latest scapegoat and this time it looks like the
victim is Beyonce. According to the Huffington Post,
PETA released this statement after Beyonce’s explosive Super Bowl Halftime show
on Sunday, saying:
We would take a bet that if Beyoncé
watched our video exposés here and here,
she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards,
rabbits, or other animals that died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending
toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on
that score.
Beyonce’s leather and lace outfit
that she rocked on stage was made of ”strips of engineered python, paneled
iguana and trapunto/pick stitched leather”. The designer of the outfit, Rubin
Singer, claims that the outfit took a total of 200 hours to make and required
“no less than five fittings”.
Beyonce is no stranger to rocking
fashions made from animals though, as she rocked a full-length fur coat and
mink eyelashes a couple of weeks back when she took the stage to sing the Star
Spangled Banner at President Obama’s inauguration. We wonder how she’ll respond
to PETA’s statement. Check out the video below of designer Rubin Singer and the
prep that went into making Beyonce’s controversial outfit.
