AFCON 2013: Nigeria 4 Mali 1 - On to the Finals.



Mali and Nigeria teams for a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final at Moses Mabhida Stadium Wednesday:
Super Eagles of Nigeria proved their superiority over Eagles of Mali when they thrashed them 4-1 on Wednesday in the first semi-final match of the 2013 Africa Nations Cup. The result sealed Nigeria’s place in the final game holding on Sunday.

Goals from Elderson Echiejile, Brown Ideye, Emmanuel Emenike and Musa Ahmed ensured victory for the 1980 and 1994 champions.
Nigeria took the lead in the 25th minute through Echiejile and made it three by the end of the first half. Musa Ahmed who came in as a substitute for Victor Moses scored the fourth in the second half before the consolatory goal for the Malians.
It is the seventh final for Nigeria. The last time the Eagles made it to the final game was in year 2000 at the National Stadium in Lagos.

The Nigeria Super Eagles scored three goals at the first half of the game through Elderson Echiejile, 25′, Ideye Aide Brown at the 30′ and Emmanuel Emenike at the 44′
Ahmed Musa scored the forth goal at 60′
Mali hit the Nigerian net through Cheick Fantamady at the 75′
