Seventy six people have been treated for injuries after part of the ceiling of London's Apollo Theatre collapsed during a packed West End show. Seven were hospitalised with serious injuries after ornate plaster and masonry fell from the ceiling 40 minutes into a performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.
Eyewitnesses described hearing a loud creaking prior to the collapse, which left the auditorium engulfed by thick dust and debris.
Structural engineers and a district surveyor from Westminster City Council will carry out a structural assessment of the building this morning.
