A Turkish imam
has been suspended after a leaked hospital report showed ‘pieces of cucumber’
were found in his rectum, say reports.
The 39-year-old, who has not been named,
has been suspended by a local branch of the Religious Affairs Directorate after
reports claimed he was taken to hospital with severe abdominal pain and
bleeding earlier this month.
According to Hurriyet Daily News, doctors
reportedly gave the official diagnosis of ‘bleeding in the anus and rectum and
foreign object in the rectum.’
But the leaking of the story has been
criticised by Istanbul’s Chamber of Doctors.
