Half of a Yellow Sun in Nigerian Cinemas From August 2014

The Movie Half of a Yellow Sun, about the Biafran war, is to be shown in cinemas in Nigeria from August after film censors gave it's approval.
It was set to open in Nigerian cinemas in April, but the country's film board found some scenes "objectionable".
It is not clear if changes have been made to satisfy the censors, but last month the film's distributor said it had agreed to edit some scenes.
The film is based on the best-selling novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
More than a million people died in Nigeria's 1967-70 civil war and it still remains a sensitive subject.
It was feared by some that the film, which is seen as sympathetic to the Biafran separatist cause, could stoke ethnic tensions.

ANGEL WORKS MOVIE REVIEW: HALF OF A YELLOW SUN

Directed by Biyi Bamidele. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Onyeka Onwenu, Genevieve Nnaji and OC Ukeje.

Expectations are running high for this movie among fans of author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and particularly Nigerian audiences, who will have to wait another two weeks for general release, risking a field day by the country's rampant pirate DVD industry.

It brings to the big screen Adichie's Orange Prize-winning novel, and also stars the "man of the moment" Chiwetel Ejiofor, who partnered with the Oscar-winning Lupita Nyong'o to such stunning effect in the recent movie "12 Years a Slave".

[Photo] Genevieve's Outfit To 'Half Of A Yellow Sun' Movie Premiere, Hit Or Miss?

Over the weekend, one of Nollywood biggest exports, Genevieve Nnaji was in the city of Toronto in Canada for the premiere of the new movie, 'Half Of A Yellow Sun', which she reportedly played a minor role in. Like every other casts in the movie, the 'Africa's Julian Roberts' was on the red carpet of the event and she got the attention of the media. The actress was dressed in white. While some feel she was looking gorgeous at the premiere, others disagree. But truly, was her dress to the event a hit or miss?
