A ROMANTIC story took a dark twist recently when a Chinese woman who had been in a coma decided to speak out about the reason for her 8 month coma.

22-year-old Lin Yingying was hospitalised after she was attacked and beaten, and spent eight months there in a coma.

Luckily, she was constantly looked after by boyfriend Liu Fenghe, who Chinese media portrayed as the doting partner who never left his sweetheart's side.

Liu even spent 200,000 yuan (£21,700) on treatment for Lin.

Woman Drugged into Coma in Lagos Hotel

A 22-year-old woman had a close shave with death last Saturday at a hotel in FESTAC Town, Lagos. She was allegedly drugged by a South African businessman until she went into coma.

The incident occurred at Carlton Gate Hotel, 7th Avenue area of the town in the evening on that day. It was gathered that the victim, Awe Rebecca, a resident of 21, Gani Adams Street, Shoba Town, came into the hotel about 3pm to meet a guest who was already lodged in a room.

The hotel’s manager, Andrew Iyere, said after about two hours in the room, the guest came down and stood by the stair-case, inviting a porter into his room.

According to NY Daily News reports: When 18-year-old Linda Perez went in for breast augmentation surgery in Miami, Fla., last August, she was a fun-loving, spirited mother to a little boy. Today, roughly three months after she woke from a coma, you would hardly recognize her.

 

“She goes into depression and crying,” her mother, Mariela Diaz, told the Miami Herald of her daughter, who has been left brain damaged, barely able to speak and requiring 24-hour nursing care.

“She sees that she cannot walk, and when she realizes what happened to her she cries,” said added.

On August 12, 2013, the vivacious and stunning young mother went in for surgery at the Coral Gables Cosmetic Center at a an alleged discount cost of $2,100.

Michael Schumacher 'In Critical Condition' Following Ski Accident

Former motor racing world champion Michael Schumacher is in a coma following a skiing accident in France.

The 44-year-old German suffered a "serious brain trauma with coma on his arrival, which required an immediate neurosurgical operation," according to the hospital treating Schumacher in the French city of Grenoble.

Schumacher was wearing a helmet when he reportedly hit his head on a rock while skiing in the French Alps. He was airlifted off the mountain following the accident in the resort of Meribel, in the popular Three Valleys area.
