According to a report by NYDailyNews - A Chinese couple was busted
selling their baby daughter in Shanghai and using the money to pay for a
shopping spree that included a new iPhone, according to a report.
The couple, identified only as Mr. Teng and Ms.
Zhang, pretended the woman’s baby bump was a tumor to hide the pregnancy as
they looked for a buyer online, the city’s Jiefang Daily newspaper reported.
But the parents — who, according to ABC News
asked for offers between $4,900 and $8,200 in online postings titled, “Adopt a
Baby” — maintained that they were only trying to find a better home for the
little girl.
