I Starved and Chained My 9 Year Old Son Because He Steals - Says Father

Francis Taiwo, a Celestial Church of Christ pastor who starved and kept his nine-year-old son in chains for months, has been arrested.

The 40-year-old pastor was apprehended by the police from the Onipanu division on Sunday at his church – CCC, Key of Joy Parish – in Ajibawo, Atan, in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Korede was, however, rescued on Friday during a joint operation by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the police, after receiving a tip-off from residents of the area.

Korede’s stepmother, Kehinde, had also been arrested for allegedly aiding the cruelty meted out to the boy.

Korede, who said he aspired to be a doctor, had blamed his father for his stealing habit.

Man Chains Son for 2 Months.. Hides Him Home in Dopemu, Lagos

Operatives from the Lagos state command, Dopemu division has arrested a man named Akanbi Lawal for chaining his son Yusuf Lawal aged 35 years for two months. 

When he was discovered, Yusuf's hands were already decaying due to the injury sustained as a result of the chaining. 

When interrogated, Mr. Lawal said the shameful and disgraceful attitude of his son made him chain him down at home for two months.

Couple Starves Three Children And Chains One To The Floor

Huffington Post: is reporting that - Three starving children — including one who was chained to the floor to prevent her from getting food — were found last month in the squalid home of a Northern California couple, authorities said.

All three — two boys and a girl — were taken into protective custody, and one was hospitalized, Monterey County Sheriff Scott Miller said.

Authorities discovered them in the Salinas, Calif., home on March 14 after two of the young people missed appointments, according to several published reports.

“It was a particularly heinous case,” Miller told the Monterey Herald. The children had “hardly eaten for months.”

The boys are 3 and 5 years old, and the girl is 8, authorities said, and they all exhibited bruises and signs of other physical as well as emotional abuse.
