For young Omowunmi Adekoya, her dream of being
a successful business woman may be truncated if the ulcerous sore on her right
knee is not surgically treated.
What started as a boil when she was seven years old has become a festering sore, slowly peeling off the flesh covering the knee. Her mother lamented about her daughter's plight. "She came home from school when she was seven years old and complained of pain on her right knee. I examined it and felt it was just a boil not until I noticed she couldn't stand properly.”
Omowunmi
was quickly taken to a nearby hospital where she received some treatment.
For a while, everything seemed alright until few years ago. Her skin was gradually decaying, exposing the bone on the knee.
