Lamar Odom Is ‘Improving’, 'Sitting in a Chair, Able to Speak and is even Sending Texts Now'

Remember when we told you that Lamar Odom was in and out of a coma in a Nevada hospital but got a recent visit from his kids who were all smiles?

Lamar Odom continues to make progress, talking and smiling with Khloe, Kim, Kris and Kendall Jenner who made the trek back to Vegas to be with him.
Kim posted on Instagram just before midnight Saturday, "I have faith in you.  I believe in the power of prayer and positive energy!  Thank you for all your prayers!  Lammy, I'm so happy Kendall & I could make you smile today!  God is good!"
Well the athlete whose condition is on the mend, is still being comforted by his family members as well as his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian who’s apparently so concerned about his health that she “hasn’t left his side” and sleeps on a pullout bed next to him.

People Magazine reports: While Lamar Odom’s condition has been improving he still remains in ICU after waking up from his four-day coma on Friday, a source tells PEOPLE.
“Lamar today again has had moments when he is awake and more responsive,” the source says. “He is still in the ICU, is receiving oxygen and sleeps a lot. He is not talking, but seems to understand when Khloé and the medical staff speak to him. He will have another head MRI in the next few days to check for any damage that could have been caused by the strokes.
“Khloé still hasn’t left his side and looks very tired,” the source adds. “As soon as Lamar wakes up, she rushes over to hold his hand. She sleeps on a pullout bed next to Lamar.”

The 35-year-old was also helped out of his bed for the first time since being hospitalized Tuesday night. He was moved with assistance into a chair and his breathing showed no signs of distress.

He continues to wear a mask to aid the flow of oxygen but he's breathing on his own. The former L.A. Lakers star is communicating mainly with hand signals, thumbs up or thumbs down.

We hear he's attempting to communicate with words but his speech is more or less limited to mumbles at this point. The word is, however, that Lamar is "heading in the right direction.

This is great progress but there is always the possibility for setbacks." Odom was found unconscious Tuesday afternoon at a brothel in Crystal, Nev., after what doctors would later treat as a drug overdose. He was intubated at a hospital in nearby Pahrump and then transported to Sunrise Hospital in Vegas.
