CONVICTED Murderer Killed A Mother and Raped Her Daughter, 10, After Discovering How To Remove Ankle Tag

A CONVICTED murderer who raped a 10-year-old girl said he would never have committed the crimes if people had noticed his electronic tag wasn't working.

David Renz said in his testimony he took off his bracelet "10 to a dozen times" and left his home without hearing a peep from federal authorities.
He has now been sentenced to life in prison.
Asked if he could have carried out the attack if the tag had been working, he said: "Most likely not."
He was supposed to wear the bracelet at all times as a condition of his release on bail on federal child porn charges.
Renz, 31 – who was born with a facial deformity – said he learned how to disable the ankle bracelet "by accident".

He told how the device popped off when he was moving boxes at his mum's house.
After not hearing from his probation officer, Renz called the next day to report the problem.
Probation officer Steven Acquilano showed the convict how to reattach the device "carelessly", Renz testified.
And just weeks later Renz regularly started breaking off the device.
The last time he took of the bracelet was March 14 2013 – the night he stabbed and straggled school librarian Lori Bresnahan and raped her young daughter as they walked out the Great Northern Mall, in Syracuse, Clay, US.

He said that night he took off the bracelet but left it on at home.
The victims' family have never been given an explanation by Renz for his crimes.
He hads only said how he did not "fully understand" why he attacked the mother and her 10-year-old daughter.
Renz was also sentenced last year to possessing more than 11,000 images and 1,000 videos of child porn.
