The 34-year-old star was in London this weekend promoting his new TV show, Over The Garden Wall.
The Cartoon Network mini-series sees Elijah lend his voice to the shows show's animated lead teenage adventurer Wirt, a far cry from his sword flinging Middle Earth days.
However, it seems despite the trilogy's unprecedented success, Elijah still enjoys watching himself take on Sauron.
"I still watch myself back if Lord of the Rings is on TV", he admits.
"I love the films. I'm not sure I could commit nine hours and watch them back to back though. That's a long long time."
Despite being rocketed to the top for his acting skills, Wood admits he actually finds it easier to work behind the camera than in front of it.
Chatting at the launch of his new show, the American-heartthrob explained: "I can get socially awkward.
"Video Games and cartoons are different to shooting a film. It's easier.
"You are not on camera. I find that it's a little easier as you only have to work with the voice and not with other actors."
