The victim was being dragged hand-in-hand along an alleyway by her husband when he suddenly turned and thrust a knife into her multiple times.
The two were thrown against a wall in a tussle and he wrestled her to the floor.
He continued his frenzied assault while telling a witness to back off.

It was while the husband made a telephone call to police to confess to what he had done that a brave Good Samaritan picked up a blue bucket from the floor and challenged him.
The husband was persuaded to climb off his prone wife and was detained.
His wife, aided by other bystanders, was rushed to hospital and has survived, it was reported.
Police in Denizli in Turkey are investigating.
