Scientists Discover Mummified Man Inside 1,000-Year-Old Buddha Statue

A 1,000-year-old Buddha statue has taught us that there is often more than meets the eye.
You see, this statue conceals something else: An actual human being.
The ancient Chinese statue was given a CT scan by Meander Medical Centre in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, near to the Drents Museum where it is usually displayed.
They found that mummy the statue contains a Buddhist master named Liuquan of the Chinese Meditation School, who is believed to have died around 1,100 AD.

However the mummy was the only shocking discovery.

Researchers found that in the spaces where Liuquan’s organs once sat were now pieces of paper  with old Chinese writing on them.
It is thought that Liuquan chose this as his final resting place in what he believed to be another step in his path to enlightenment.
