The organizers of the
second edition of Nigeria’s leading entrepreneurial event, Women of West Africa
Entrepreneurship Conference (WOWe) 2014, Montgomery West Africa, have said the
conference would provide a high level networking platform that “connects the
most influential women entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and dialogue on issues
related to entrepreneurship and leadership.”
WOWe, according to the Managing
Director, Montgomery West Africa, Tori Abiola, was created as a platform for women
entrepreneurs in West Africa as an avenue for them to tap into a wealth of
resources, contacts, knowledge and opportunities, irrespective of their
backgrounds, connections and vision.
Chocolate City Boss,
Audu Maikori blessed among other women in the panel is leading the session on
Entertainment and Media: On the Highway to the Stars, Behind the Scenes
alongside other leading entertainment geniuses they include Biola Alabi,
Genevieve Nnaji, Ruth Osime, Waje and Sasha.
Audu is also playing a
prominent role by sponsoring a delegate to the event to attend the Conference
and 3 Workshops, the person is UN Peace Ambassador, Team Lead of Women in Social
Enterprise (WISE-West Africa),
Chaste Inegbedion, who has just returned as a delegate to the 4th edition of the Africa
CEO Round-Table & Conference on CSR held at the Tinapa in Calabar sponsored by Budgit
Toriola added that
“as women continue to play the most significant role in economic development,
they need their own economic independence and the skills to grow their
businesses to be sustainable and result in growth opportunities.”
The conference,
scheduled to take place next week at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, will attract
several female entrepreneurs from various industries such as Information
Communication Technology (ICT), Fashion, Oil and Gas, among others.
List of speakers at
the conference include Prominent personalities in their fields like Ms
Genevieve Nnaji (actress, model, singer, designer), Mrs Onari Duke (Country
Director EMPRETEC Nigeria Foundation), Mrs Folake Akindele (Managing Director,
Tiffany Amber) and Mrs Bukky George (CEO HealthPlus Pharmacy), to mention a
few.
Chapel Hill Denham,
sponsor of the event, through its Women’s Investment Fund, also revealed that
it was proud to be a sponsor of the conference.
