AFRICAN GLOBAL DJ AWARDS BILLED FOR THE 4TH OF MAY

Talent in the entertainment industry has been appreciated overtime by the emergence of award ceremonies to cater for the different facets of the industry (music artistes, movie acts e.t.c) but no one remembers the DJ, that man or woman who’s at the parties, clubs and bars, stringing the music together (music sung by our celebrated and non-celebrated artistes) making the audience dance.

The DJ is that person who connects the people to the music but he is hardly ever acknowledged. Now, times have changed as we introduce African Global DJ Awards (AGDA), an awards ceremony that is geared towards honoring DJs in Africa and around the world. 

Organized by Mohammed Alfa of Stronghold Entertainment, Kolawole Ajayi of Kollertunz and Tope Esan of Stats Media, the awards will hold on the 4^th of May at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The DJs are nominated in sixteen categories. These categories cover from regional aspects to a broader global aspect, also honoring female DJs who are unsung heroes in a predominantly male profession. 

A panel of judges selected from different countries and likely to be headed by Nigeria’s legendary DJ JIMMY JATT will decide winners.

The awards night will be hosted by Barbz of Big Brother fame, Denrele Edun of Channel O, rapper Navio from Uganda, DJ Jam Jam from United Kingdom and Adams of Nigeria’s SoundCity.
