Man Who Planned Sister’s Kidnap Still On The Run As Police Parade Other Gang Members

Police in Bayelsa State have paraded 6 kidnappers who robbed the home of a woman known as Mrs. Ebitimi Salvation and also abducted her after the robbery. According to the Police, Mrs. Ebitimi’s brother planned her kidnap and also robbed her husband of N500, 000 during the operation.

Luck however ran out on them, as the boat they were using to convey their victim to an unknown destination suddenly developed a fault and stopped working.

The marine police, who sighted them, swooped and arrested them along the Southern Ijaw waterways as they made to escape.

It was said that, Mrs Ebitimi’s brother, Bright wore a mask all through the operation and escaped arrest. The police are however still looking for him.

17 People Shot in New Orleans Mother's Day Parade

17 people have been shot during a Mother's Day parade in the US city of New Orleans, police say.

Police Supt Ronal Serpas told reporters that three or four people required surgery but no deaths are reported.

The victims included a 10-year-old girl who suffered a minor wound, he added. It is unclear what sparked the shooting, which happened in the city's 7th Ward on Sunday afternoon. Police say two or three suspects were seen fleeing the area. Police said that, as well as the 12 people with gunshot wounds, one person was injured in the ensuing commotion.
