8-year-old Bride Dies After Sex With 40years old Hubby On Wedding Night


An eight year old bride in Yemen died from internal injuries on her wedding night, bleeding to death after deep vaginal tearing caused by sex with her 40 year old husband. The girl, identified only by the name Rawan, died in Hardh in the governorate of Hajjah in northwestern Yemen, according to a report issued by UPI on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Activists in the region want to put an end to the practice of marrying young girls, and have called for police to arrest the girl's husband and family.
Nevertheless, the forced marriage of child brides in Yemen remains a socially accepted custom in many rural areas.Indeed, the practice has deep cultural and religious roots, and is widespread in Yemen.

[Video] #QnA: Child Marriage in Nigeria - Yes or No?


The issue of child marriage in Nigeria has been reignited by Nigeria's Senate, led by Senator Yerima, bid to re-approve a clause in the Constitution that many fear will allow child marriage in Nigeria. A proposed constitutional amendment defined the age at which Nigerians can renounce their citizenship at 18 - but a majority of Senators, led by Yerima, voted down the amendment stating it is against Islamic law. BattaBox heads to the mosque in UNILAG, Lagos to ask students what they feel about the issue of marriage to young children.

"I'm A Victim Of Child Molestation" - Eva Alordiah


Eva Alodiah in a radio interview with Hotfm Abuja Breakfast show with Cheezy Charles and Tutu, confessed she’s a victim of child molestation when responding to question on why she hasn’t spoken publicly about the #ChildNotbride issue. Eva said:
‘We are such a country that is so blessed by God. We don’t have earthquake, volcanoes, tsunami. We are problems to ourselves and this is disgusting. I come from a background where I was molested as a child. Definitely it’s a serious situation where you have to put a child through that type of trauma’.

"I Support The Underage Marriage Law Because Nigerian Men Are R.A.P.I.S.T.S" - Kemi Olunloyo


The controversial Kemi who apparently has declared her intention to run for Governor of Oyo state come 2015, posted this on her blog. 

"I support the UNDERAGE marriage LAW but encourage any girl to say NO if they don't want to marry...YET! Nigerians please start pushing the GAY marriage out too and get your wish and stop being cowards.
