Twisted Nigerian Doctor and Wife Kept Man as Slave for 24 Years

A SICK Nigerian doctor and his sadistic wife kept a man as a slave in London for 24 years.

Emmanuel Edet, a trained obstetrician, and his 58-year old wife Antan, were found guilty of enslaving Ofonime Sunday Inuk. The couple made Mr Inuk work “up to 17 hours a day” without pay while he was trapped.
Mr Inuk, now 40, was forced to look after the couple's two children, cook, clean and garden for free. The deranged couple even made him sleep on the floor - despite often having a spare room.

The victim, who gave his evidence from behind a screen so that he could not see his tormentors, told the court his passport was hidden from him for more than a decade.

The Edets changed their victim’s name and added him to their family passport as their son when they first brought him to the UK in 1989.
Mr Inuk left his native Nigeria with the Edets when he was only 14, travelling to Israel before arriving in Britain.
He thought they would pay him for his work as a "houseboy" and would give him an education.
The couple, of Perivale, north west London, were both found guilty of cruelty to a child, slavery and assisting unlawful immigration.
